These days, it is not difficult to see the image of traditional Ao Dai in different situations and spaces, because the Community Ao Dai Week is taking place (from July 6 to 12). Having the opportunity to visit the ancient village of Phuoc Tich (Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district) on this occasion, it is easy to see the traditional Ao Dai worn by men, women, mothers, sisters, children... in the peaceful, ancient space of the more than 500-year-old village by the gentle O Lau river. Looking at the image of the graceful Ao Dai moving step by step on the winding, shady village road, one can fully feel the beauty of the landscape and people blending together.
Ao dai and Phuoc Tich ancient village have similarities as they both carry the traditional values of the nation and the land. Ao dai is a symbol of Vietnamese women, while the ancient village is a symbol of a traditional, unique village in the Central region of Vietnam. What is more special is that both have very clear and extremely important goals in the process of socio-economic development, which is to gradually affirm their roles and contribute to promoting values to attract tourists and develop tourism.
Not only in this week of community Ao Dai response, but also for a long time with Phuoc Tich, when choosing to travel here, tourists have chosen to wear Ao Dai to visit and take souvenir photos at the locations. It is the Ao Dai when combined with the tea shop, the garden house, the relics, the ancient moss... that seem to enhance the solemnity, elegance and romance of Ao Dai in particular and Vietnamese women in general. And that is the scene to keep beautiful souvenir photos of the land.
Ms. Duong Thi Cong Ly, Director of Vietnam Tourism Joint Stock Company Hanoi - Hue Branch, once shared that according to many tourists, choosing to wear Ao Dai to visit Phuoc Tich is the most suitable and beautiful. Many groups of middle-aged female tourists when coming to Phuoc Tich ancient village all bring a set of Ao Dai to wear when visiting. Sometimes when tourists forget, they will ask the business to rent a set to wear. For many people who know Phuoc Tich and always have special feelings for this place, they assume that no matter what happens, when coming here, they must wear Ao Dai.
Working in the tourism environment, Ms. Tran Thi Thu, Management Board of the Phuoc Tich Ancient Village Architectural and Artistic Relics, said that every time she wears the traditional ao dai of the nation, she feels very proud because the ao dai enhances the gentle beauty of women. In particular, she feels even more honored and proud when wearing the ao dai in front of tourists to introduce the ancient village that is over 500 years old. Therefore, female colleagues often wear ao dai to work and feel very proud to wear ao dai; contributing to the development of tourism in Phuoc Tich.
Exploiting the potential, spreading the value of traditional national costumes, promoting the image of the Ao Dai associated with the beauty of the ancient countryside is something that needs to be done better for Phuoc Tich. With new investments in infrastructure and tourism services in recent times, when we know how to exploit other values, such as Ao Dai, arousing pride in the national origin, it will certainly create a very different, very beautiful image for the ancient village of Phuoc Tich.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Bach, Chairman of Phong Dien District People's Committee shared that it can be seen that the images of women, mothers, and sisters wearing Ao Dai and wearing conical hats visiting the ancient village, or the images of cycling through each small alley of the village, posing and taking pictures at the lotus pond, garden houses, water wharves... all evoke a very poetic and Hue-like image. This will be the image that Phong Dien will focus on building into a separate brand for Phuoc Tich. Along with that, the district will form more products and suitable tours for tourists to easily choose Ao Dai when coming to the ancient village.
