During this year's rainy season, the locality has been implementing proactive plans for flood prevention. Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Chairman of Cao Son Commune People's Committee said: Before the rainy season, the commune assigned forces to the villages to survey, review, and make a list of households with unstable houses, living in areas at risk of flooding in order to proactively move assets and people to a safe place when floods come.

Anh Son District is a locality with nearly 97 km of waterways with 3 rivers flowing through it, namely Lam River, Giang River and Con River. It is forecasted that in 2023, the weather situation will still be complicated and unpredictable, with the risk of flash floods, landslides and whirlwinds. Therefore, before each rainy and stormy season, the People's Committee of Anh Son District has deployed many plans for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thai - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Anh Son district said: The district has directed specialized sectors and localities to strengthen inspection and implementation of flood and storm prevention and mitigation plans; Organize and consolidate the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue from the district to the grassroots level, assign specific tasks to members and establish routes for direction; At the same time, regularly urge functional sectors and units to inspect and evaluate the quality of dyke, embankment, culvert, drainage pumping stations... to have timely repair plans.
Based on the tasks of each sector, unit, and locality, develop plans and plans for natural disaster prevention, control, and search and rescue in 2023 to ensure content and closeness to the reality of the locality and unit. On that basis, communes and towns proactively review vulnerable points, areas at risk of landslides, flooding, flash floods, dams, and culverts across streams to develop plans to protect and evacuate people, property, and livestock from dangerous areas when necessary.
For areas at risk of landslides, Anh Son district directed communes to put up warning signs and inform people about the scope of landslides so that they can proactively prevent and evacuate to safe places. Strengthen information and propaganda work, warnings, and instructions on measures to prevent and respond to natural disasters promptly to all classes of people. Proactively prepare sufficient human resources and materials according to the "4 on-site" motto, ready to respond, contributing to minimizing damage caused by natural disasters and floods in the district.
