This is an annual fair promoting the culture and cuisine of various countries, and is also an activity to raise funds for projects to support people in difficult circumstances such as orphans, lonely elderly people, homeless people, and people with serious illnesses in the local area.
This year’s fair has more than 50 booths including embassies and organizations from all over Pakistan. The products on display at the fair are typical of the region, locality and area.
The booth of the Vietnamese Embassy is a highlight that always attracts visitors not only because of the delicate beauty of the handicraft products imbued with Vietnamese culture, but also because visitors can enjoy the culinary flavors that have created the Vietnamese brand such as beef noodle soup and spring rolls prepared in accordance with the Halal culture of Muslims.
The dishes were prepared and cooked by the wives of the Vietnamese Embassy staff and received praise and love from many visitors.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar inaugurated the fair, stressing the pivotal role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening relations between nations. He also took to heart the theme of the Fair, calling it a powerful symbol of unity and compassion, and stressed that such initiatives are important to bring people closer together through cultural activities that are deeply humane.
This year’s PFOWA Fair raised over 2.5 million rupees to support the needy in Pakistan. It is also an opportunity for embassies of various countries to exchange, introduce and promote their country, people and culture to local friends and the Diplomatic Corps.
Previously, the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan also participated and actively contributed to the activities at the International Food Festival 2024 organized by Westminster School and the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad and attended activities at the British High Commission - The British Chrismas Mela. These events are not only an opportunity for the Embassy to demonstrate solidarity and join hands with the international community in charitable activities, but also an opportunity to enhance exchanges and cooperation between countries, increase mutual understanding, and promote the beauty of culture, cuisine, country and people of Vietnam.
