Raising awareness of sea and island sovereignty for women in Kien Giang province

The propaganda activities were carried out in 5 coastal and island communes of Kien Giang province, including: Linh Huynh, Son Binh, Nam Du, An Son and Vinh Hoa Hiep. Reporters from the Naval Region 5 Command conveyed and provided practical information about the position and role of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of national construction and defense.

The propaganda content focuses on clarifying the historical and legal basis affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; the current situation in our country's seas; the viewpoints and policies of our Party and State in resolving maritime disputes; and the outstanding results of the Vietnam People's Navy in performing assigned political tasks.

The propaganda activities also promote the role and responsibility of Kien Giang women in building their homeland and country; at the same time, calling on women to actively participate in activities towards the homeland's sea and islands with practical, specific and meaningful actions to promote the combined strength, together with the forces to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Ms. Ha Thi Phuc, a member of the Women's Union of An Son Commune, Kien Hai District, Kien Giang Province, shared: “The information about the sea and islands provided by the reporter of the Naval Region 5 Command is very diverse, profound and meaningful. Previously, our knowledge about this issue was limited, but through today's propaganda session, we have a better understanding of the importance of the sea and islands to the country and the responsibility of each citizen. After this conference, I will actively share what I have heard and understood with my family members as well as neighbors so that everyone can raise awareness of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.”

This meaningful activity not only contributes to strengthening trust and raising awareness of responsibility but also affirms the important role of Kien Giang women in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland, especially the sovereignty of the sea and islands in the new situation.
