Booking.com, the online travel platform, has just announced the top 10 cities and top 5 most hospitable regions in Vietnam within the framework of the 13th Traveller Review Awards 2025. At the same time, it held a ceremony to honor Kien Giang province as one of the world's friendliest destinations in 2025.
To be eligible for the ranking, each destination must have a minimum of 50 eligible accommodation establishments. The ranking is calculated based on the ratio of the winning establishments to the total number of accommodation establishments in the locality. While for the regional scale, each region must have a minimum of 200 eligible accommodation establishments. According to this year's results, Hoi An leads the ranking of the most hospitable cities in Vietnam, and Kien Giang is honored as the most hospitable region, followed by Ninh Binh and Quang Nam in second and third place.

In the first quarter of 2025, Kien Giang province welcomed more than 3.1 million visitors, an increase of 13.7% over the same period last year. Tourism revenue reached more than 13.04 trillion VND, nearly half of the annual target.
Phu Quoc alone attracted more than 2 million visitors, including nearly 474,500 international visitors, an increase of 66.5%. In January and February 2025 alone, the pearl island recorded 1.4 million visitors, with more than 320,000 foreign visitors, an increase of 52.7% over last year.
"These figures reflect the capacity and vision of Kien Giang, a locality that knows how to take advantage of its natural beauty and cultural values, while promoting event organization and sustainable tourism development," said Mr. Varun Grover.
According to Mr. Tran Van Linh - Head of Tourism Management Department of Kien Giang Province Department of Tourism - the orientation of developing high-end, high-quality tourism products has strengthened the reputation of Phu Quoc destination as well as Kien Giang province.
In the coming time, Phu Quoc will continue to focus on resort tourism, sea and island tourism, ecological tourism and cultural tourism... aiming for high-end positioning.
On the occasion of April 30 this year, it is expected that room occupancy at resorts on the pearl island will increase sharply, of which over 80% for the 4-5 star segment, room occupancy at resorts and villas will be about 70%.
