On December 27, 2024, the Provincial People's Council passed a Resolution on socio-economic tasks in 2025 of An Giang province, in which the target economic growth rate (GRDP) in 2025 is from 8.5% or more. Implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch 140/CD-TTg dated December 27, 2024 on striving for double-digit economic growth in 2025, the province has developed a socio-economic development plan for 2025 with the goal of focusing on solutions to promote economic growth, striving to achieve a growth rate of 10% or more. In which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 4.80%; the industry and construction sector increased by 16.15%; the service sector increased by 12.15%; product taxes (excluding product subsidies) increased by 4.02%.

Specifically, the target for the first quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter of 2024, GRDP growth is 9.03%, of which: Agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by 3.96%; industry and construction sector increases by 14.99%; service sector increases by 13.23%; product tax (excluding subsidies) increases by 3.77%. The target for the second quarter of 2025 compared to the second quarter of 2024, GRDP growth is 11.28%, of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by 7.48%; industry and construction sector increases by 15.76%; service sector increases by 11.43%; product tax minus subsidies increases by 4.39%. Accumulated for 6 months, GRDP growth is 9.94%, of which: Agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by 4.72%; Industrial and construction sector increased by 15.38%; service sector increased by 12.32%; product tax (excluding subsidies) increased by 4.05%.
The target for the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024 is that GRDP growth is 9.50%, of which: Agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by 4.22%; industry and construction sector increases by 16.34%; service sector increases by 12.00%; product tax (excluding subsidies) increases by 6.29%. Accumulated for 9 months, GRDP growth is 9.78%. Specifically, agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by 4.52%; industry and construction sector increases by 15.73%; service sector increases by 12.21%; product tax minus subsidies increases by 4.67%. The target for the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the fourth quarter of 2024 is that GRDP growth is 10.59%, of which: Agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by 5.62%; The industrial and construction sector increased by 17.11%; the service sector increased by 12.00%; and product taxes (excluding subsidies) increased by 1.93%. The cumulative growth rate for the whole year of 2025 is 10% or more. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 4.80%; the industrial and construction sector increased by 16.15%; the service sector increased by 12.15%; and product taxes (excluding product subsidies) increased by 4.02%.
To ensure close, timely, practical and flexible direction and management of the province's socio-economic development, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision to establish 4 working groups to direct the implementation of economic growth in An Giang province, including: Working Group No. 01, monitoring the field of administrative reform, promoting the development of science and technology and digital transformation. Working Group No. 02, monitoring the field of industrial development, construction and public investment. Working Group No. 03, monitoring the field of service and tourism development. Working Group No. 04 monitoring the field of agriculture, natural resources and environment.
Based on the socio-economic development plan, the 2025 economic growth scenario, the work program of the Provincial People's Committee and the implementation plan to strive for an economic growth rate of 10% or more, directors, heads of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, chairmen of district, town, and city People's Committees proactively research and advise the Provincial People's Committee on the most effective and optimal tasks and solutions on the basis of maximizing the local potential to achieve the set growth rate, but must ensure sustainability. Focus on reviewing and supplementing the work plans and programs of agencies and localities to ensure that no tasks are missed and all tasks and solutions are fully implemented to promote growth, focusing on new driving forces, developing green economy, circular economy, digital economy, promoting consumption and export.
At the same time, the provincial departments, branches and sectors assigned to take the lead in promoting growth in economic sectors are primarily responsible for advising the Provincial People's Committee. Regularly monitor the production situation of enterprises and cooperatives in the area, promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee on solutions to remove difficulties of enterprises and cooperatives and solutions to promote socio-economic development. At the same time, promote the spirit, responsibility, proactiveness, creativity with high determination, drastic action, focus on coordination, strive to complete the goals according to the set scenario; regularly inspect, urge, remove difficulties for production and business, update and fully report on the implementation of assigned tasks. Strive and make the highest effort to achieve the target of double-digit growth in 2025.
