The announcement was just released by ACB on the evening of January 4. According to ACB, the bank received information about a number of individuals taking advantage of social networks to livestream and post fabricated and false information about ACB leaders gambling and transferring tens of millions of USD abroad.

“This fabricated information has seriously violated the dignity, honor, rights and legitimate interests of the leaders and negatively affected the image and reputation of ACB,” ACB said in a statement.

The bank also believes that this false information also risks causing confusion and panic in public opinion, negatively affecting the financial and monetary security of the financial and banking sector in Vietnam.

ACB said it has collected all posted content and spread of false information in accordance with legal procedures to report the incident to competent management agencies for handling in accordance with the law.

ACB also emphasized that the bank is always transparent, safe and highly responsible in all activities to ensure the interests of customers, shareholders and partners.

Previously, social networks spread information that an ACB leader gambled and transferred money abroad.
