This afternoon, January 12, the Department of Education and Training (DoET) of Quang Tri province held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2023-2024 school year.

After 3 days of hard work, the Organizing Committee has selected 65/106 outstanding projects to award prizes in the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for high school students this year. According to the evaluation, the projects are diverse in genre with many fields from natural sciences to social sciences; many projects demonstrate scientific, creative and high quality.
Most of the projects have appropriate research content and methods; have practical meaning, are rich in humanity, are researched from concerns, discovered through practical experience, investigated, and surveyed society suitable for the psychology of school-age children.
Some units with high quality projects won awards such as: Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Vinh Linh High School, Quang Tri Town High School, Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Cam Lo High School, Dong Ha High School...
The Organizing Committee awarded 2 First Prizes to students of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted with the projects: "Gloves converting sign language into natural language for deaf and mute people" by Tran Ngoc Long and "eLab - Virtual reality education system supporting innovation in teaching and learning of the 2018 General Education Program" by Le Duc Luu and Nguyen Ngoc Anh Tuan. These are also 2 projects that will participate in the national science and technology competition scheduled to be held in Bac Giang province in the near future.
Awarding 7 Second prizes, 25 Third prizes and 31 Fourth prizes to the remaining excellent projects. On this occasion, Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Huong presented certificates of merit to the students who won First and Second prizes in the contest.
The science and technology competition for high school students is an annual playground for students who love scientific research to have the opportunity to demonstrate their technical and technological creativity and apply the general knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems, meeting the high requirements of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
The competition also encourages the development of the STEM education model and creates a foundation for future startup activities.
