62 years ago, on March 27, 1963, Quang Binh Newspaper, the mouthpiece of Quang Binh Party Committee, published its first issue. This was an important political and cultural event, marking a new development step in political and ideological work, creating excitement in the Party Committee and all classes of people in the province, opening a new development period in the history of Quang Binh province's press.

62 YEARS AGO, ON MARCH 27, 1963, QUANG BINH NEWSPAPER, THE SPEECH ORGAN OF QUANG BINH PARTY COMMITTEE PUBLISHED ITS FIRST ISSUE. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT POLITICAL AND CULTURAL EVENT, MARKING A NEW DEVELOPMENT IN POLITICAL AND IDEOLOGICAL WORK, CREATING EXCITEMENT IN THE PARTY COMMITTEE AND ALL CLASSES OF PEOPLE IN THE PROVINCE, OPENING A NEW ERA OF DEVELOPMENT IN THE HISTORY OF QUANG BINH PROVINCE'S PRESS.

It can be affirmed that, over 62 years of construction and development, the issues and pages of Quang Binh Newspaper have reflected and recorded fully all the events and historical development marks of the province through the revolutionary stages; contributing worthily to the common victory of the homeland during the fierce war period as well as in the current construction and innovation.

After Quang Binh Newspaper was just established, the war of destruction in the North by the US imperialists took place. Quang Binh became the front line of the socialist North and the direct rear of the southern battlefield. During the fierce and arduous years of the resistance war against the US to save the country, the staff and reporters of Quang Binh Newspaper were always present in the most difficult and fierce places, regardless of hardship and sacrifice, closely following the area and battlefield, promptly reflecting valuable and vivid information about the indomitable will and bravery of our army and people in production, combat and combat service; contributing with the Party Committee, army and people in the province to build the noble tradition of the homeland of Quang Binh "Two good": "Good at fighting, good at production". The efforts and achievements of the staff and reporters of Quang Binh Newspaper at that time were evaluated by the Central Propaganda Department as: "Quang Binh Newspaper is one of the strong local newspapers, with a solid staff and reporters, implementing well the direction of the Central Propaganda Department and strictly complying with and creatively applying the Resolution of the local Party Committee and the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee...".

The country was unified, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue and Vinh Linh area were merged into Binh Tri Thien province. Implementing the Resolution of the Politburo, the resolutions and directives of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the cadres and reporters of Quang Binh Newspaper stood side by side with their colleagues in Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue to fulfill their political tasks well, contributing much to building a prosperous Binh Tri Thien province.

In 1989, Quang Binh returned to its old boundaries. In the midst of the difficulties and shortages of a newly re-established province, with the attention and leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, Quang Binh Newspaper soon stabilized its organization, promptly published the first issues, and effectively propagated the resolutions, policies, and guidelines of the Party, the State's and the province's laws and policies to the people. At the same time, it reflected and encouraged the spirit of competition and determination to overcome difficulties and challenges, and build the homeland of Quang Binh to become more and more prosperous and beautiful.

After more than 30 years of Quang Binh returning to its former territory, Quang Binh Newspaper has made many remarkable advances, from once a week, now it has been published 7 times/week, with a circulation of 5,000 copies/time; from a narrow-format, 4-page, typographically printed newspaper, now the newspaper is printed with modern technology, 8 pages, color separation, and beautiful presentation. Previously, it took 2-3 days for the newspaper to be distributed to the base, now the newspaper is distributed to most localities during the day, promptly meeting the information and enjoyment needs of readers.

Along with the development of the printed newspaper, the Quang Binh Electronic Newspaper has been in operation since 2012, promoting its advantages and positive effects. The average number of visits is from 20,000 to 25,000 times/day, peaking at the time of major events or storms and floods reaching nearly 120,000 times/day. Since 2017, along with increasing the print newspaper's circulation to a daily newspaper, the Quang Binh Electronic Newspaper has invested in upgrading phase 2, building a studio, strongly developing special columns in the direction of modern journalism, multimedia (Emagazine, infographic, television...) with increasingly high content and quality, meeting the political tasks in the new period and the diverse needs of readers.

Quang Binh Newspaper always implements the principles and purposes of operation, closely following the political goals and tasks for propaganda. The quality of news and articles reflects promptly, fully and vividly the international and domestic situation, the socio-economic development of the province and the lives of the people. The newspaper pages have built and maintained practical and effective columns and topics. At the same time, along with reflecting and encouraging the movement of action of the masses, Quang Binh Newspaper has also actively contributed to the fight against negativity, corruption and social evils, propagating and encouraging the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, consolidating the trust of the masses in the Party and the renovation process...

In order to continuously innovate and develop the newspaper, Quang Binh Newspaper has built and started operating the Electronic Editorial System since the beginning of 2018, a breakthrough in the application of information technology to the task of journalism, demonstrating increasingly enhanced professionalism.

In addition, to ensure the quality of daily newspaper publication, in recent years Quang Binh Newspaper has gradually built a team of reporters, editors, and staff with sufficient quantity, good political qualities, and high professional qualifications. Currently, 100% of the Newspaper's staff, reporters, and editors have university degrees, some of whom have 2 university degrees and a master's degree in journalism, ensuring good performance in the field of journalism.

Along with a team of reporters, editors, and staff, Quang Binh Newspaper has built a team of collaborators with over 200 people, always enthusiastically collaborating with the Newspaper. The team of collaborators has made many important contributions in the process of improving the quality of Quang Binh Newspaper, meeting the propaganda requirements in the new period.
