When mentioning Hue people and Hue girls, we cannot help but mention the pure white conical hat, gentle and shy next to the purple ao dai. The profession of making conical hats has been around for a long time, perhaps since the time of the kings. Up to now, Hue is considered one of the largest conical hat producing places in the country. Visitors can visit famous craft villages such as: Da Le, Phu Cam, Doc So, Trieu Tay, Kim Long, Sia. This is not only a simple product but also a work of art, requiring the artisan to be skillful, meticulous and persistent.
2. Bronze casting village
Bronze casting is a long-standing traditional craft of the Vietnamese people in general and Hue people in particular. Bronze casting is one of the famous craft villages in Hue. A place for tourists to learn about this special craft is the Duc ward. When the Phu Xuan citadel was conquered, the bronze statues were also disbanded. However, fortunately, thanks to the foundries of the Nguyen brothers, this unique craft village has been preserved until today. The bronze casting village is located on the southern bank of the Huong River, from Gia Vien bridge to Long Tho, about 3km southwest of Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province.
3. Phuoc Tich pottery village
Phuoc Tich pottery village is located in Phong Hoa, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province. Phuoc Tich's unique traditional products include: jars, pots, jars, urns, thongs, om, roundabouts, and whistles. This craft village has existed for a long time, and Phuoc Tich is also known as an ancient village. Coming here, visitors can not only learn about the craft village here but also visit the ancient houses and relics left behind.
4. Thanh Tien paper flower craft village
Thanh Tien village is located in Phu Mau commune, Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue province. Since the Nguyen Lords, a new Bao La ward has emerged, now Thuy Lap village, Quang Loi commune, Quang Dien district, located on the southern bank of Tam Giang lagoon. Due to the same origin, both places have the craft of weaving bamboo products. The most famous is Bao La weaving village in Quang Phu commune, Quang Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province. That is why there is a folk saying: Bao La baskets, trays, and bamboo beds. Up to now, the craft village here not only makes baskets, trays, and bamboo beds, but also other artistic items used mainly for decoration.
Phu Mau, Phu Vang, Thua Thien Hue province, in addition to being famous for Sinh village's artifacts, also has a traditional craft called Sinh village paintings. Sinh village paintings mainly depict women in colorful costumes, used in worship, objects, and animals. These paintings are not like other paintings, they do not use brushes or colors to draw, but the artisans use stencils, with a complete painting, many stencils will be needed to print on paper.
