According to TechRadar , although iOS 17.3 has just been updated, the first beta of iOS 17.4 has appeared, giving the Apple product-loving community a clear look at the changes coming to the iPhone.
The most notable highlight is that third-party app stores and external web browsers will soon be allowed to work on iPhones. These changes will be for users in the EU (European Union).
However, in addition to these major changes, iOS 17.4 also brings many other updates and improvements. Here are the prominent features that have been discovered.
Allow cloud gaming service applications
One big change that’s not just specific to the EU but applies globally is Apple’s move to allow cloud-streaming apps. This means apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now will be allowed to function as separate apps, rather than being accessible only through a browser. This should make streaming games on iPhones a lot smoother.

New Apple Pencil
Although not a feature of iOS 17.4, 9to5Mac has found evidence in internal files of this iOS version that Apple is developing the Apple Pencil 3. The highlight of this new generation of pen is the ability to work with the Find My application.

This feature will make it easier for users to find the pen if lost, especially useful for a small item that is easy to lose like the Apple Pencil. However, the official launch date of the Apple Pencil 3 has not been confirmed yet, nor is it clear whether it will support Ultra-Wideband technology for precise location tracking.
Podcast Transcript
Just like Apple Music can display lyrics for the song you're listening to, the Podcasts app can now display text (transcripts) of the podcast you're playing. Similar to Apple Music, words will be highlighted as they're spoken, but the difference is that these transcripts are generated automatically.

Improved Stolen Device Protection feature
Apple added a notable feature called Stolen Device Protection with iOS 17.3. This feature is specifically designed to prevent phone thieves from accessing and changing information on iOS devices. Specifically, the device will require Face ID or Touch ID when performing sensitive actions such as changing passwords or iCloud accounts, even when the phone is unlocked, and will also require a delay before changing certain settings, such as turning off Find My iPhone.
With the iOS 17.4 beta, the feature is getting a little better, allowing users to choose to always enable the delay request or only turn it on when they're away from familiar locations, like home or work.

Add new emoji
iOS 17.4 beta also has 6 new emojis, including: nodding head, shaking head, lemon slice, fire phoenix, broken chain and mushroom.

Multilingual Siri
With iOS 17.4 beta, iPhone users can set Siri to read messages in the language they want, without even changing Siri's primary language. For example, you can keep Siri's primary language as English (for listening and responding) but ask the virtual assistant to read messages in French. This feature is rarely used, but will definitely be useful for some people.

Overall, iOS 17.4 brings a lot of updates and improvements that are worth looking forward to, especially for EU users. These new features promise to improve the iPhone experience in many ways.
