Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang, 53 years old, was recognized as the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education after 4 years of the school being vacant in many important leadership positions.
The decision to recognize Mr. Le Hieu Giang as Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education was presented by a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training this afternoon (March 4).
Mr. Le Hieu Giang was born in 1972, a former student of the school, then graduated with a doctorate from Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic) in 2003; was appointed associate professor in 2012.
During his time at the school, Mr. Giang held many roles such as: Head of the Department of Postgraduate International Relations Science Management, Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Deputy Head of the Department of Training, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Information Technology.
Before officially taking on the current position as principal, Mr. Le Hieu Giang was assigned to be in charge of the school from June 2022; acting principal from November 2023.
Since May 2021, when the previous principal retired and the new principal was not recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education has been continuously vacant in many important positions such as principal, Party Secretary, and Chairman of the school board. The recognition of Mr. Giang as Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education ends a period of ups and downs in the leadership apparatus after 4 years.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, requested leaders and lecturers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education to unite and innovate management and administration.
“The school’s leadership reform has taken a lot of effort and is a profound lesson for the school’s leaders, staff and lecturers on the journey of development. What has passed is past, from now on the school must open a new page in history,” said Mr. Phuc, asking Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education to complete its apparatus and seize the opportunity to develop.
