On November 9, at Brigade 125, Naval Region 2, Fisheries Surveillance Ship 290 left the port carrying a working delegation from the Naval Command and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to visit officers and soldiers of Naval Region 2, Naval Region 5 and the military and civilians on the islands in the Southwest sea and the DK1/10 platform.
The delegation included 160 delegates representing the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; socio-political organizations; departments, branches, and affiliated associations; leaders of Thu Duc City and districts; organizations, businesses, and individuals in many fields of the city.

According to the plan, the delegation will visit and present gifts to officers, soldiers and people on the DK1/10 platform; the islands of Hon Khoai, Tho Chu, Hon Chuoi, Nam Du, Hon Doc, Phu Quoc and Con Dao from November 9-16.
Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan, Deputy Commander of the Navy, Head of the working delegation, said: Over the past years, thanks to the attention of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and the deep affection of compatriots at home and abroad, officers and soldiers at sea and on islands of the Fatherland have received practical encouragement and support.
In 2024, the Navy organized 265 working delegations, welcoming 4,762 delegates to visit and encourage the soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DKI platform. This working delegation has many profound political and social meanings, contributing to arousing the sentiments, awareness and responsibility of the delegates in preserving and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Thereby successfully implementing the goal of "Vietnam's sustainable marine economic development strategy to 2030, vision to 2045" as determined by the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
"This is a source of encouragement, motivation, and added strength for Navy officers and soldiers and civilians on the seas and islands of the Fatherland to feel more secure and warm-hearted, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland in all situations," said Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the delegates selected to go on this voyage represent the leaders and people of Ho Chi Minh City to encourage and send their feelings to the officers and soldiers on the islands.
Through this trip, the delegates hope to join hands with the officers and soldiers of the Navy and other functional forces to firmly maintain the sovereignty of the sea and islands. Upholding the sense of responsibility, political awareness, contributing intellectually, materially and spiritually to bring the seas and islands of the Fatherland closer to the mainland, making each officer, soldier and people on the seas and islands feel more warm-hearted, secure, and firmly hold their guns to firmly protect the sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc noted that after the trip, delegates in each position need to advise the city and locality on more creative and meaningful ways to better promote the movement "For the sea and islands of the homeland - For the frontline of the Fatherland" launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
