According to the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt, speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung congratulated Mr. Bakri Osman on his re-appointment as Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Sudan. The Ambassador emphasized that the duty of the Honorary Consul is to protect the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens and legal entities in the host country in accordance with Vietnamese law, the laws of the host country and international treaties to which Vietnam and the host country are members, in accordance with international law and practice.

The Ambassador believes that with his experience, extensive local relations and close ties to Vietnam, Mr. Bakri Osman will effectively support the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt in consular work, citizen protection; promote and encourage economic, trade, investment, cultural, educational - training, scientific - technological and tourism relations between Vietnam and Sudan. These activities contribute to the further development of the relationship between the two countries. The Ambassador affirmed that he will support the Honorary Consul to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
Expressing sympathy and sharing with the difficulties that the Sudanese people are facing, the Ambassador hoped that the situation in Sudan would soon stabilize and that all parties would seek a lasting peaceful solution, for the benefit of the Sudanese people and for peace and stability in the region. Vietnam is ready to participate in international humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Sudan after the war ends.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung provided new information on visa policies, visa exemptions, and procedures related to the issuance of e-visas in Vietnam.
