The outstanding achievements of the youth of the Vietnam Coast Guard have increasingly affirmed the determination, aspiration to rise up and the spirit of dedication of cadres and youth union members in building a force that is advancing towards modernity. 9 outstanding young faces, 2 promising young faces, 5 individuals were honored with the Vietnam Coast Guard Creative Youth Award 2024. These are all typical examples, good seeds with many outstanding achievements in many positions and fields of work. Their achievements are real stories, full of effort and creativity in work, performing tasks, making an important contribution to the implementation of combat readiness, patrolling, inspecting and controlling the sea areas of the Fatherland; organizing rescue and relief to promptly respond and support fishermen in distress at sea, ensuring the safety of both people and vehicles; participating in responding to and overcoming natural disasters and epidemics for people in the stationed areas.

There were moments when the entire hall was quiet, moved, and proud when listening to the stories of many police officers and detectives who, despite their young age, had become key forces participating in major, complicated cases and cases, facing dangerous, cunning, reckless, and reckless criminals. Overcoming all difficulties, they rose up to make important contributions to the results of the Vietnam Coast Guard's task of maintaining and enforcing the law at sea.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard and Comrade Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association presented the Outstanding Young Faces of the Vietnam Coast Guard in 2024.

In addition, many officers and members of the Coast Guard regularly participate in coordinating the handling of situations at sea related to search and rescue, crime prevention, and IUU fishing prevention; organizing joint patrols with law enforcement forces at sea of ​​countries with seas adjacent to Vietnam. Through exchange activities for young officers on Party work and political work between the Vietnam Coast Guard and Coast Guards of other countries, the position and role in the international arena are affirmed.

Talking to us, Captain Nguyen Van Hung, Assistant to the Planning Staff, Logistics - Technical Department, Command of Coast Guard Region 4 shared about the initiative "Training model for electrical instruments, electrical measuring instruments and electric drives" to help improve skills in connecting electrical circuits and using measuring instruments for officers and employees in the electromechanical industry and other majors. With high applicability, the initiative was awarded the Second Prize by the Coast Guard Creative Youth Award Council. In addition, he also received a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense, a Certificate of Merit from the Coast Guard Command, a Certificate of Merit from the Regional Command, and achieved the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level; Outstanding Young Face of the Vietnam Coast Guard for 3 consecutive years. In 2024, Captain Nguyen Van Hung was voted as a Promising Young Face of the entire army.

Captain Nguyen Van Hung shared: “Currently, in Coast Guard units, there are many officers and employees who are called "innovation trees". The award has contributed to encouraging officers and employees in the entire Coast Guard force to promote their creativity to create high-quality creative works, contributing to solving difficult stages and difficult tasks in performing tasks in the sea areas of the Fatherland”.

As the only female officer to be honored this year, Captain Tran Hai Linh, Assistant to the International Relations Department, is known as a staff member who is eager to learn and has a high sense of responsibility for her work. She has done a good job of advising on the effective implementation of international cooperation and defense diplomacy activities, notably: Coordinating and supporting the sending of officers and ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard to attend training courses, training, and visits to other countries and welcoming friendly ships to visit Vietnam, exchanging and organizing joint exercises with law enforcement forces at sea with adjacent waters bordering Vietnam according to signed documents... She has received a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense; achieved the title of Emulation Fighter of the whole army, and was voted as a Typical Young Face of the Vietnam Coast Guard in 2024.

With a dynamic and creative spirit, the youth of the Coast Guard have actively contributed to the dissemination of laws; implemented the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen", and the mass mobilization work "Coast Guard with ethnic and religious compatriots"; especially, the image of young Coast Guard officers accompanying teachers and students in the contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" has become a typical image, bringing a positive ripple effect in the community in the area where they are stationed and where they perform their duties; and has been highly appreciated and cared for by the people.
