According to Lao Dong, after a series of interest rate increases, the market has 7 domestic banks listing interest rates from 6%/year without requiring deposit conditions.

For example, ABBank listed the 12-month term interest rate at 6.0%/year. This is also the market-leading interest rate for this term.

HDBank leads the 18-month term interest rate chart with an interest rate of 6.1%/year.

After the recent interest rate increase, NCB also listed an interest rate of 6.1%/year for a term of 18-36 months. In addition, for deposits of over 1 billion VND, NCB is currently applying the following preferential interest rates: Interest rate of 6.05-6.2%/year for a term of 12 months; 6.15-6.35%/year for a term of 13 months; interest rate of 6.55-6.7% for a term of 18 months.

OceanBank currently lists an interest rate of 6.1%/year - the highest interest rate on the market for online savings deposit packages, term of 36 months. Following OCB, SeABank currently lists an interest rate of 6.0%/year for the same term.

BVBank also currently pays interest of 6.0%/year for 60-month deposit term.

Sky-high interest rates at banks

According to Lao Dong, MSB is currently offering a special interest rate of 7.0%/year to customers with newly opened savings accounts or savings accounts opened from January 1, 2018, automatically renewed with a term of 12 months, 13 months and a deposit amount of 500 billion VND or more.

Dong A Bank currently lists a special interest rate of 7.5%/year for customers depositing for a term of 13 months or more, with interest at the end of the term for deposits of VND 200 billion or more, for a period of 365 days/year.

HDBank also listed a special interest rate of 8.1%/year for a 13-month term. Applicable to savings of at least VND500 billion/Savings Card, not applicable to mobilization in the form of initial interest or periodic interest.
