(BDO) On the morning of April 11, the Social Insurance (SI) Region IV held a conference on health insurance appraisal in the first quarter of 2025, aiming to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, effectively use and prevent profiteering of the HI fund. The conference was attended by more than 200 officials and employees from 81 HI medical examination and treatment facilities across the province.

More than 200 officers and employees working at 81 health insurance facilities in the area attended the conference.

In the first quarter of 2025, medical facilities in the area requested the Social Insurance of Region IV to pay health insurance for 1,239,183 people (of which, 1,188,884 were outpatients and 50,299 were inpatients), an increase of 24,474 people (an increase of 2.01%) over the same period, with a payment amount of more than 540 billion VND, an increase of 9.17% over the same period.

Medical facilities request the Social Insurance agency to continue to increase technical support, promptly guide new documents, and have a flexible mechanism in handling special cases to ensure the legitimate rights of patients, creating favorable conditions for medical facilities in the process of medical examination, treatment and health insurance settlement.

Mr. Dang Hong Tuan, Director of Social Insurance Region IV, suggested that the parties strengthen coordination and be more effective in medical examination and treatment, and health insurance payment for people in the area.

At the conference, Mr. Dang Hong Tuan, Director of Social Insurance Region IV, highly appreciated the efforts and positive changes in health insurance appraisal in Region IV, especially the application of information technology, strengthening electronic appraisal, and coordination with medical facilities to control costs well and limit abuse and profiteering of the health insurance fund.

The leaders of Social Insurance Region IV requested that medical facilities continue to strictly implement professional regulations and health insurance payment to ensure rationality, validity, correct norms and correct routes in the designation of technical services, medicines and medical supplies.

At the same time, further strengthen two-way coordination, promptly discuss and resolve problems arising during the appraisal and payment process, especially in cases of increased costs or exceeding estimates.
