Hop Tien B Kindergarten and An Phu Kindergarten are the last two schools to allow students to go to school in person after the water receded due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi and the storm's circulation. To date, over 2,900 schools at all levels in Hanoi have organized for students to go to school.

Currently, two schools in Chuong My district, Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School and Nam Phuong Tien Secondary School, are still flooded. However, with a flexible solution (borrowing locations), students of the two schools have been able to study in person since September 23.

Schools: Xuan Son A Kindergarten (Son Tay town); Vat Lai Kindergarten (Ba Vi district) and the satellite school of Van Thai Primary School (Ung Hoa district) - are schools that were deeply flooded, students were able to go to school a few days ago.

After Typhoon Yagi, Hanoi schools suffered no casualties but heavy property damage. Statistics from the Department of Education and Training show that nearly 10,000 trees were uprooted or felled at schools in the city; 45 schools were flooded, 3,580m of walls collapsed, 457 roofs and classrooms were overturned, 913 doors were broken, 719 garages were damaged, 2,015 signs were broken; 202 schools had power outages, etc.

With the ultimate goal of ensuring the safety of all students, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training directs education and training departments and schools to closely monitor weather developments and the actual situation in each area to develop and implement appropriate teaching plans.

On September 7, Hanoi students were given a day off to avoid the storm. On September 9, over 30 schools in Hanoi gave students a day off due to heavy rains, rising river water causing flooding in schools and traffic disruption.

Up to now, 100% of Hanoi students have been able to study directly.

As of September 10, about 120 schools were unable to organize in-person learning for students. Units with many schools having to close include: Thanh Tri (43), Thuong Tin (24), Chuong My (23); many schools flexibly changed the teaching method from in-person to online.

On September 11, in Hanoi, more than 160 schools were unable to organize in-person classes for students due to the unpredictable developments of the circulation after Typhoon Yagi. Of these, many schools switched to online classes, a few schools combined online and in-person classes or let students take time off; dozens of schools became evacuation points for people to avoid floods.

On September 16, the number of schools allowing students to attend in-person classes increased significantly. However, there are still over 60 schools that cannot welcome students due to flooding.

On September 19, Hanoi had 26 schools that had not yet opened to welcome students to in-person learning; of which Chuong My district had 16 schools.

On September 24, there were still 4 schools that could not welcome students back to school. This number decreased to 2 schools on September 25. And by September 26, 100% of schools in Hanoi organized for students to go to school in person.

Currently, teaching and learning activities at schools are being organized normally according to the school year plan. Schools with online learning time or extended school breaks are organizing new knowledge learning, supplementary knowledge or make-up classes for students.

Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Hanoi Education Trade Union visited and presented gifts to teachers and students in units affected by storms and floods, including: Hoan Kiem, My Duc, Ung Hoa, Son Tay, Quoc Oai, Ba Vi...

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also contributed 1 billion VND to the Vietnam Education Trade Union to share and help students and teachers affected by storm Yagi in the northern provinces.
