Contribute to enhancing the value and brand of agricultural products of the province

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong province has deployed and organized many important domestic and international trade promotion activities such as: Successfully organized the Exhibition Area, introducing typical products and goods of the province at the Conference to announce the planning and investment promotion of Hai Duong province in 2024.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of Hai Duong province and representatives of departments and branches visited the booth displaying and introducing products of Hai Duong province.

Advised and successfully organized the working delegation of provincial leaders in Australia and New Zealand; coordinated the organization and directly participated in the working delegation of provincial leaders in South Africa and Mozambique; coordinated with the Management Board of Industrial Parks to advise and organize the working program of provincial leaders with the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar and Pakistan at the headquarters of the Provincial People's Committee and Dai An Industrial Park.

Organize booths to introduce and promote the province's products at 06 fairs and exhibitions such as: International Trade Fair (Vietnam EXPO 2024) in Hanoi, Northwest - Dien Bien Industry and Trade Fair 2024, "Trans-Asia Bridge 2024" Fair in Quang Tri, Quang Ninh OCOP Fair 2024, Viet Tri Trade Fair (Phu Tho) 2024...

Along with that, organize 4 events within the lychee trade promotion activities such as: Conference on lychee and agricultural products trade promotion with the Vietnam Trade Office system and foreign enterprises in 2024 in Thanh Ha; event "Thanh Ha - Hai Duong lychee, Journey with tourism tours"; organize to introduce and promote Thanh Ha lychee at the Hanoi supply/demand connection conference in 2024; bring lychee to large supermarket systems nationwide...

In addition, in coordination with the Trade Promotion Agency, organize 3 trade sessions, provide consultation for Hai Duong enterprises to export agricultural products and goods to the Chinese market and countries in the Middle East; coordinate with the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, the Hai Duong Province Jewelry and Gemstone Handicraft Association to organize 3 delegations with more than 100 enterprises to research and survey the market and visit production facilities, industrial parks and clusters in Hung Yen, Hanoi and Lao Cai; organize participation in 5 booths at the Con Son Spring Festival 2024.

Many other activities to promote lychee products and agricultural products and goods of the province also continue to be implemented such as: Sending a list of enterprises and cooperatives supplying lychee to enterprises, purchasing agents, and traders at home and abroad; sending official dispatches to provinces and cities requesting support and coordination to promote consumption, develop and expand the domestic market; working with retail corporations, supermarkets, enterprises, purchasing agents, and lychee exporters; connecting with tourism and travel businesses to bring lychee products to consumption at the system of restaurants, hotels, tourist areas and spots.

Organize connections and support farmers to consume lychees on e-commerce platforms; discuss and work with functional units of the Department of Industry and Trade, Customs agencies of provinces bordering China such as Lang Son, Lao Cai and Quang Ninh... to request support for customs clearance procedures, transportation, warehousing and storage to create the fastest and most favorable conditions for Hai Duong lychees when exporting to China.

Mr. Tran Van Hao, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong province, said that the organization of the above activities is an innovation and creativity in the promotion of lychee and agricultural products of the Department of Industry and Trade in 2024. By linking trade promotion activities with cultural promotion, tourism, tour activities, and passenger transport, Thanh Ha lychee of Hai Duong has reached a large number of domestic and international customers.

Customers do not need to go to Hai Duong, to the lychee garden but can still enjoy Thanh Ha lychee. Thereby, contributing to increasing the value of Thanh Ha lychee, Hai Duong province but also being a highlight in the travel journey, discovering the beauty rich in cultural traditions of the land and people of Dong...

Previously, continuously for 3 years (2021, 2022 and 2023), the Department of Industry and Trade consulted with the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize 32 important trade promotion events such as: Lychee Trade Promotion Conference in 2021 and 2022; Conference on promoting agricultural product exports including lychee to the Chinese market.

This is a highlight in the trade promotion activities organized and implemented by the Department of Industry and Trade in recent years. Hai Duong is the first locality in the country to carry out many trade promotion events for agricultural products, especially lychee, on an international scale, with a wide scope in many countries and regions around the world,” Mr. Hao emphasized.

Because the international conferences on lychee and agricultural products have attracted the attention of 54 countries and territories around the world, with nearly 300 foreign importers attending; the value and brand of Thanh Ha lychee of Hai Duong in the domestic and world markets have been enhanced.

International trade promotion activities have promoted linkage, consumption and expanded export markets for lychees and agricultural products of the province. Previously, lychees and agricultural products of Hai Duong were only exported to some traditional markets such as China, Laos, Cambodia, some countries in the Middle East, etc.

After the province's major trade promotion conferences, lychee has continuously developed its export market; especially exported to high-end markets such as Japan, France, USA, Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic... Continuing to develop and expand markets in China, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore; South America and some African countries... Revenue from lychee in 2021 and 2022 will reach about 1,200 billion VND; in 2023, it will reach over 1,800 billion VND.

XTTM activities are actively and effectively implemented.

Sharing with reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Mr. Tran Van Hao said that before 2021, export-oriented trade promotion activities abroad in the province were quiet. For many years, the organization of trade promotion delegations in foreign markets was very limited.

Trade promotion to expand the consumption market for products of Hai Duong province

However, from 2021 to present, the Department of Industry and Trade has been very active in advising the Provincial People's Committee to organize many investment promotion delegations in foreign markets. These activities are organized with more orientation, both in terms of market and industry. Through the trade promotion delegations, many products and goods of Hai Duong are directly introduced, promoted and advertised in many large international markets, gateways to other markets...

The Department has coordinated with the Trade Promotion Department to actively organize activities to connect with the Trade Office system, thereby supporting, providing and sharing information on regulations, policies, tax rates, technical barriers to trade as well as the demand for importing lychees and agricultural products abroad so that the Department of Industry and Trade can grasp and advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop mechanisms and policies to support agricultural production enterprises to meet the requirements of the international market. Many agricultural products of Hai Duong have been exported abroad smoothly, overcoming import barriers.

Notably, from 2021-2023, 25 conference bridges were organized to connect with the Vietnam Trade Office system organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (1 meeting per month). At the same time, advising on organizing 8 trade and investment promotion delegations in countries such as the US, UK, France, Belgium, Japan, Korea, Japan, Cambodia, Laos... for officials of state management agencies and enterprises... The Department's leaders directly participated in trade promotion delegations in the UK, France, Belgium and trade promotion delegations in Japan; including organizing product display booths at the 2nd Overseas Vietnamese Economic Forum, connecting local cooperation, Vietnamese - Kyushu enterprises "Substantial, Effective, Sustainable" in Fukuoka and Asaka (Japan).

According to Mr. Hao, before 2021, the organization and reception of foreign business delegations and trade organizations to Hai Duong was not much, organized spontaneously and fragmented. However, from 2021 to now, the Department of Industry and Trade has regularly coordinated with the Department of Trade Promotion, the Department of Import and Export, the Department of Asia - Africa Markets... to organize foreign business delegations to Hai Duong. The results have been to connect many foreign enterprises to sign contracts with Hai Duong enterprises in the fields of agricultural products, lychees, carrots...

In addition, in coordination with the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), we organized and participated in 18 trade meetings; 7 consulting programs, providing information to foreign partners in the fields of agricultural products, processed foods, supporting industries, textiles, footwear (both directly and online) in the markets of the United States, China, Japan, Korea, South Asia, Africa, etc.

This is a very positive point in the province's export-oriented trade promotion activities. These activities are often organized in a chain, in which the Department of Industry and Trade makes a list of enterprises with export needs in the province; connects with foreign import enterprises and then organizes for the two sides' enterprises to exchange, discuss and sign contracts...
