Exports expected to set new historical milestone Production declines, in crop year 2024/25, coffee exports are forecast to reach 6 billion USD |
According to the latest statistics from the General Department of Customs, in the first 15 days of October, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 21,489 tons, worth 125.8 million USD, down 23.2% in volume and 21.1% in value compared to the second half of September, but up 20.5% in volume and 98% in value compared to the same period last year.
From the beginning of the year to October 15, Vietnam exported 1.13 million tons of coffee with a turnover of 4.44 billion USD, down 11.1% in volume but up 39.1% in value compared to the same period in 2023.
Coffee export turnover earned more than 4.4 billion USD |
Coffee export prices from the beginning of the year to mid-October averaged 3,933 USD/ton, up 56.6% over the same period last year.
In the first 15 days of October, the average export price reached 5,855 USD/ton, up 4.8% over the previous month and the highest level ever achieved.
Thus, despite the decrease in output, Vietnam's coffee export turnover still set a new record high after only 9.5 months, surpassing the figure of 4.24 billion USD achieved in the whole year of 2023.
Vietnam began harvesting coffee in October and peaked in November and December, with some regions continuing to harvest until January of the following year. The additional supply from Vietnam is also one of the reasons why coffee prices have been difficult to increase recently.
Coffee prices in the domestic market today (October 21) are trading in the range of 111,100 - 111,700 VND/kg.
