A Hai Cuong sleeper bus traveling on National Highway 14 (through Gia Lai province) suddenly caught fire, causing panic among passengers.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Hung Commune (Chu Pah District, Gia Lai Province) Huynh Trong Quang said that the passenger bus fire occurred this morning (December 30). The fire was controlled promptly so there were no human casualties.
According to initial information, at around 5:45 a.m., the Hai Cuong sleeper bus, license plate 47B-028.76, was traveling on National Highway 14 from Kon Tum province to Dak Lak, with more than a dozen passengers on board. When it reached the front of the Song Da Ya Ly Cement Factory (village 9, Nghia Hung commune), smoke was detected coming from the engine compartment at the back of the bus.

Upon discovering the incident, the driver pulled the car over to the side of the road, called on passengers to quickly leave the car, and urgently moved luggage and goods from the car's compartment outside.
In just a moment, the driver and local people used the fire extinguisher on the car and other fire-fighting equipment to control the fire. The fire damaged the car engine but did not cause any loss of life or property of the passengers.
Immediately afterwards, Hai Cuong bus company picked up the passengers to continue their journey and coordinated with authorities to determine the cause of the incident.
