According to Colonel Nguyen Dinh Thao, Head of Department 2 (X03, Ministry of Public Security), towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the Ministry of Public Security issued a plan to build a People's Public Security monument "For a peaceful life".

The monument is located in Ho Chi Minh City to honor the sacrifices and contributions of the People's Public Security Force (PPP) in the cause of ensuring political security, social order and safety, for the peaceful life of the people.

According to Colonel Nguyen Dinh Thao, the monument is a sculpture representing the image of generations of police officers and soldiers in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; it is a symbol of courage, sacrifice, overcoming all difficulties and hardships, bringing a peaceful and happy life to the people.

This is a cultural work with high symbolic and general significance, artistic value, political, historical and traditional educational significance, aiming to strengthen the relationship between the people and the People's Public Security Forces.

The monument also shows solemnity, has a clear, solid block layout, in harmony with the surrounding space, creating a lively space, expressing the spirit of the People's Public Security soldier; creating aesthetic emotions, artistic impressions for the people about the familiar image of a brave, humane soldier, "forgetting himself for the country, serving the people".

Using the language of sculpture, the image of the People's Public Security Forces is both solemn and intimate; demonstrating the noble role and mission of the People's Public Security Forces in the cause of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety; in harmony with the architectural landscape.

The monument is located at Au Lac Park (adjacent to Cong Hoa intersection), Tran Phu Street, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City, made of new technology bronze, ensuring sustainability, solemnity, closeness and harmony with the actual space and landscape.

Major General Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of Department X03, said that the 6-ton statue, which can last for hundreds of years, is an inseparable blend of the character's soul, the eyes, the spirit of the statue, the loving gaze between the people and the police officers, expressing the peace of life...

The monument is about 9.5m high, with 7 characters including: Vietnamese Mother, a child and 5 police officers. The character layout of the monument is the image of the Riot Police, Fire Police, Traffic Police and local police along with the image of a Vietnamese Mother and a child, showing the image of a police officer who is always devoted "to a peaceful life".

Talking about the reason for choosing the four forces of CSCĐ, PCCC, CTCĐ and the grassroots police to make the monument, Major General Nguyen Cong Bay said that these forces are the ones who are in contact with and closest to the people, and play an extremely important role in maintaining the peace of people's lives.

After more than 1 year of implementation, the monument is currently being installed and constructed, completing the surrounding landscape and is expected to be completed in December 2024.
