5 teams determined for the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup

After the second round of matches in Group F, the 2023 Asian Cup Organizing Committee has officially determined the 5th team to enter the round of 16.

In the match that took place in the early morning of January 22, Saudi Arabia won 2-0 against Kyrgyzstan thanks to goals from Mohamed Kanno and Faisal Al-Ghamdi.

This victory became too easy for Saudi Arabia when they played with one more player for most of the match because Kyrgyzstan's Aizar Akmatov and Kimi Merk received red cards in the 9th and 52nd minutes respectively.

Overcoming Kyrgyzstan, the Saudi Arabia team got 6 absolute points, thereby becoming the first team of Group F to participate in the knockout round.

Before Saudi Arabia, four other teams have also registered for this round, including host Qatar (Group A), Australia (Group B), Iran (Group C) and Iraq (Group D).

In the remaining match of Group F, Thailand and Oman shared points after a goalless draw at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

With this draw, the Thai team won 4 points and has many opportunities to enter the knockout round.

Meanwhile, the Oman team got their first point and the door to continue is still open when in the last round they only have to meet the Kyrgyzstan team.
