Svay Rieng (blue shirt) entered the AFC Challenge Cup final.

This is the first time in history that a Cambodian team has qualified for the final of a continental cup tournament. Svay Rieng’s opponent will be Arkadag, a club from the Turkmenistan Premier League. If they win, Svay Rieng will qualify directly for the AFC Champions League Two (formerly the AFC Cup), something that no Cambodian club has ever done in history.

The final will take place at 7pm on May 10. The AFC Challenge League is Asia's third-tier cup competition, behind the AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League Two.

The resounding home win gave Svay Rieng a huge advantage heading into the second leg away from home. The Cambodian side continued to take the lead thanks to goals from Gabriel Silva (5'), Bounphachan (28') and Ratanak Min (56').

However, Madura United did not give up and created an exciting score chase. Lulinha, Andi Irfan scored, plus an own goal by Dara Vireak, helping the Indonesian representative end the match with a 3-3 draw. In the end, Madura United stopped in the semi-finals with a total score of 3-6 against Svay Rieng.

The Cambodian team had an impressive journey to the final. In the quarter-finals, Svay Rieng also overwhelmed Myanmar representative Shan Utd with a total score of 7-4 after 2 matches.
