Six people, including three minors, were killed in a shooting during a family-organized soccer match at a park in the central Mexican state of Hidalgo.
Several other people were injured in the shooting, Hildalgo police said. However, people at the scene appeared reluctant to provide details of the incident to authorities.
Although there is no official conclusion, information circulating on social media suggests that the incident is likely related to a dispute between local residents and residents from the neighboring state of Mexico, home to the capital Mexico City.
A similar attack at a soccer stadium in Morelos state, south of Mexico City, killed four people, including the former mayor of the town of Yecapixtla, last September.
