Gia Tran Commune announced to achieve advanced new rural standards in 2023

On the morning of May 12, Gia Tran commune (Gia Vien) held a ceremony to announce the commune meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, leaders of the District Party Committee, Gia Vien District People's Committee and many children of the hometown.

Immediately after being selected as one of the 5 communes registered to build advanced new rural areas in 2023 in Gia Vien district, the Party Committee, government, and mass organizations of Gia Tran commune have promoted the dissemination and propaganda of the content, meaning, and purpose of the advanced new rural area construction program, creating unity and consensus among cadres, party members, and people.

Implementing the program, the total mobilized resources for building advanced new rural areas in Gia Tran commune reached over 204 billion VND, of which people contributed nearly 88 billion VND, accounting for 43% of the resources.

Up to now, in the economic structure of the commune, agriculture accounts for about 68%, the average production value per hectare of cultivated land reaches 53 million VND (an increase of 3 million VND compared to 2021); average income per capita in 2023 reaches 71.6 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate in 2023 decreases to 0.75% (excluding social protection households), 3/6 villages have met the standards of model new-style rural villages...

In 2023, Gia Tran commune met 19/19 criteria according to the set of criteria for communes meeting advanced NTM standards for the period 2021-2025 and was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1175/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2023.

At the ceremony, the leaders of Gia Vien district acknowledged and commended the efforts of cadres, party members and people of Gia Tran commune in building advanced new rural areas.

At the same time, Gia Tran commune is requested to accelerate the implementation of the approved Production Plan; make better use of and promote internal strengths, potentials, and resources to continue to have reasonable plans for economic development, gradually restructure agricultural production, organize well the application of science and technology in production, link to expand product consumption markets, attach importance to the development of small and medium enterprises to gradually fundamentally change the local economic structure, and increase workers' income.
