This situation reflects a slight downward trend in the southern pig market, although some localities still maintain stable prices. The price difference between regions shows the difference in consumption demand and supply in each locality. In particular, Ca Mau continues to be a bright spot with the highest price, which may be related to the large consumption demand and concentrated farming scale here.
Pig price forecast for tomorrow, April 3, 2025, will continue to decrease
The live hog market has been fluctuating in recent days, especially in the Southern region. According to experts, the live hog price on April 3, 2025 may continue to decline as the market is continuing to decline rapidly.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the South fluctuates between 70,000 - 75,000 VND/kg, with some localities such as Ca Mau still maintaining the highest price of 75,000 VND/kg. However, a slight decrease of 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg has been recorded in many provinces and cities, except for some places such as Binh Phuoc, Ben Tre and Hau Giang where prices remain stable.
High-tech pig farming projects, such as the project in Tuyen Quang with a total investment of nearly VND150 billion, are being accelerated and are expected to be operational in June 2025. These projects not only improve livestock productivity but also ensure quality and environmental hygiene, contributing to stabilizing the live pig market in the long term.
In the short term, pork prices in the South may continue to decrease slightly, especially when high-tech farming projects come into operation. However, the decrease will not be too deep because pork consumption demand remains stable in large urban areas.
In general, the live hog market on April 3, 2025 is forecast to continue to decline, especially in the South. High-tech livestock projects such as those in Tuyen Quang will contribute to stabilizing the market in the future, but in the short term, live hog prices will still be under downward pressure due to abundant supply and unimproved consumption demand.
