After officially surpassing other car brands in the Vietnamese market to take the "throne" in market share, the Vietnamese electric car company continues to make history by becoming the brand with the number 1 service workshop network in the market.
According to information posted on the VinFast website, by the end of November 2024, VinFast had 111 service workshops nationwide. Thus, the Vietnamese electric car company has officially surpassed Hyundai and Toyota to take the No. 1 position in terms of service workshop network. According to statistics, Hyundai is currently in second place with 96 service workshops, while Japanese car company Toyota has 89 workshops.
In particular, VinFast's system scale will continue to expand rapidly in December 2024 to at least 200 workshops, firmly affirming its No. 1 position in the Vietnamese market in terms of customer care network.
VinFast's special information has been shared by not only VinFast electric car owners but also many Vietnamese users. On a forum for VF 8 electric car owners, Mr. Ngo Van Hai expressed his joy because VinFast's extensive service workshop system helps users like him feel secure during use. Moreover, the development of the largest charging station network in the market in a few short years makes customers like him clearly feel the respect and efforts of the Vietnamese car company to bring the best experience to customers.
According to Mr. Hai, VinFast's number of service workshops, the largest in the market, is even more meaningful when compared to foreign brands. He calculated simply, since delivering the first cars, VinFast currently has about 200,000 cars on the market, but there have been up to 111 service workshops, meaning that for every 1,800 cars there is 1 service workshop - meaning the density of workshops per car is very high. This ratio is even continuing to improve with VinFast's current extremely fast service workshop development speed.
Meanwhile, with foreign brands, having been in Vietnam for decades with sales of up to millions of vehicles, the number of factories is still only at… double digits. “For nearly 30 years since Toyota entered Vietnam, if calculated by average annual sales, the Vietnamese market has millions of Toyota vehicles but only 89 factories, meaning each factory has to carry tens of thousands of vehicles. Comparing like that shows the huge difference in after-sales policies between VinFast and other brands,” the customer said.
Differentiating to raise the bar for the automotive industry
Highly appreciating VinFast’s historical No. 1, Mr. Phan Thanh Man, an auto market analyst, said that VinFast has done what not many car companies “want to do and can do”: investing heavily in the after-sales network right from the start of business. This is a costly investment process and not many car companies choose it.
“Foreign car manufacturers usually only care about how many cars they sell, but VinFast chooses a different approach by investing in after-sales services so that customers have a comprehensive experience. This policy helps VinFast not only sell cars but also build long-term and trustworthy relationships with consumers,” said Mr. Man.
Also from this approach, according to the expert, it is understandable why VinFast electric cars previously took the throne in terms of market share in Vietnam, surpassing car companies that have been in business for decades. " Vietnamese users choose VinFast electric cars not only because of good products and reasonable prices, but also because they are truly number 1 in terms of care," the expert analyzed.
On a broader perspective, according to experts, with a number of service workshops surpassing its competitors, VinFast not only creates convenience for customers but also helps raise standards in the entire auto industry.
In fact, this is not the first time that a Vietnamese car company has made long-standing car companies in the Vietnamese market look back at themselves to improve the quality of service for Vietnamese customers. Previously, a series of VinFast's market-leading policies, especially the 10-year warranty period, forced car companies in the market to upgrade their policies. Although they still cannot keep up with VinFast, it is clear that the average standards of the market have been raised and, more importantly, the rights of users have been somewhat improved.
“VinFast’s milestones force other car manufacturers to improve their services to meet the increasing expectations of Vietnamese customers,” said Mr. Man.
