Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) at 10:30 p.m. the same day spoke up to explain. VPF said: " Before round 14 of Night Wolf V-League 1 - 2023 - 2024, the Hang Day Stadium Management Board re-lined the field, the field area was adjusted from 67 m x 103 m to 64.8 m x 95 m, to maintain the grass in the area in front of the goal in the D stand and part of the grass in the sideline area near the away team's technical cabin.

The reduction in the field area does not affect the competition or violate current regulations. According to football rules, the length of the field ranges from 90 m to 120 m, the width from 64 m to 75 m. Football rules also clearly state that the tournament organizers have the right to decide the area within the above scope. With the adjustment of the field size, the tournament organizers and television partners have promptly updated the changes, especially integrating technical parameters to ensure the operation of VAR technology at Hang Day Stadium."

The referee was both praised and criticized.

Regarding the match result, The Cong Viettel won against the visiting team Quang Nam with a score of 3-2. Referee Do Khanh Nam was harshly criticized by Quang Nam coach Van Sy Son.

Mr. Son said at the press conference after the match: " The referee made us lose. The red card situation that the referee gave to Ngan Van Dai, I think it was not worth it, this collision was not worth being sent off because it was very normal. I am not satisfied with the referee's decision, including the VAR team. The referee has a problem, especially when he ignored many mistakes of the home team. I don't understand why the main referee and the VAR team worked like that, it really lost confidence. The red card led to the consequence that we did not play well, we were exhausted in the second half. If we had enough people, we probably would not have lost."

Coach Nguyen Duc Thang of The Cong Viettel team had a different opinion: " VAR is used to bring the most objectivity to the matches. I did not observe carefully the scene where Dai received a red card. However, the referee in this match caught the ball well, there were not many controversial situations and VAR carefully checked many situations. The referee had no problem."
