The excellent performance of female martial artist Dang Tran Phuong Nhi helped the Vietnamese wushu team win the first gold medal at the world championship held in the US.

Dang Tran Phuong Nhi represented the Vietnamese wushu team in the male stick performance event. With her impressive performance, the Vietnamese female martial artist impressed the judges.
Phuong Nhi received the highest score and won the first gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation. Second place went to He Jianxin (Hong Kong (China)) and third place went to Tan Cheong Ming (Malaysia).
Previously, Phuong Nhi won a silver medal in the male sword performance event and finished behind the Chinese martial artist. By winning one gold medal and one silver medal, Phuong Nhi helped Vietnamese wushu temporarily rank sixth on the medal table at this year's tournament.
The 2023 World Wushu Championships will take place in the United States from November 17-20. The tournament will bring together 500 athletes from 72 countries and territories.
The Vietnamese wushu team participating in this year's world tournament has 13 martial artists including Duong Thuy Vi, Nguyen Thi Lan, Phuong Nga, Kieu Trang, Phuong Giang, Thu Thuy, Phuong Nhi, Manh Cuong, Duy Hai, Huy Hoang, Do Dat, Van Tam, Nong Van Huu.
