Chelsea Le says goodbye to teammates before returning to the US

On the afternoon of April 3, after the 5-0 victory over Vietnam Minerals in the Women's National Cup semi-final in Hanoi, Vietnamese-American player Chelsea Le had an emotional farewell to his teammates and the coaching staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club.

Tonight, Chelsea will go to the airport to return to the US, where she is working as an engineer for a project. Saying goodbye to the team right before the final, Chelsea may miss the opportunity to win the National Cup in her first time playing in Vietnam. This is a regret not only for her but also for the HCMC Women's Club. Chelsea stayed at the field for quite a while to encourage her teammates.

Chelsea's family will fly back to the US tomorrow. They will also be there for their daughter's special moment.

Mr. Lam Le (left), Chelsea Le's father, is a die-hard fan of the Premier League team of the same name. Next to him is his youngest son Bradly Le, a player at the Barcelona Residency Academy (USA). Bradly also returned to Vietnam this time, is practicing at the Hanoi Club, and occasionally watches his sister play.

Captain Huynh Nhu instructed her juniors quite carefully. After 4 matches since joining the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club, Chelsea is a very good partner for Huynh Nhu.

The coaching staff of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club also hopes that Chelsea will maintain her physical condition before this player returns to Vietnam in May. The 2024/25 AFC Champions League for Women is the most important goal of the team named after Uncle Ho and is also the main reason why Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh were called back to play.

Chelsea Le was born in 2001 and graduated with a degree in Water Treatment from Gonzaga University. She is also a player for Gonzaga University's West Coast Conference soccer team. She was named Midfielder of the Year (2024).

Before Chelsea Le, Ashley Tonthat Tram Anh also had to fly back to the US in the middle of the tournament to take her university graduation exam. In the 2025 Women's National Cup, the pair continuously played for the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club before returning home. Despite leaving the team, the two players still won medals (at least runners-up) in the Women's National Cup.
