South Korea is facing the lowest birth rate in the world. Therefore, the government and many organizations have proposed support plans to boost the birth rate in this country.
Recently, the couple Kim Joon-young and Sagong Hye-ran (living in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province) welcomed 3 boys and 2 girls, marking the first natural birth of quintuples in Korea.

Hye-ran works as an administrative officer at a school in Yangju, while Joon-young is a middle school teacher in Dongducheon. For this special birth, their children will receive a total of 170 million won (equivalent to more than 3.2 billion VND) from the government and organizations.
Of which, the Dongduseong government gave the couple 15 million won in the form of shopping vouchers, to be used at any store in the city with annual sales of less than 1 billion won.
In addition, under the city's birth incentive policy, couples will receive 1 million won for their first child; 1.5 million won for their second child; 2.5 million won for their third child and 5 million won for their fourth child and beyond. Couples will also receive 3.5 million won in postnatal care support in the form of shopping vouchers.
The two also received vouchers (gift certificates) from the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "First Meeting" program worth 14 million won, and received two monthly allowances (child support and child allowance) worth 85 million and 47.5 million won, respectively.
It is known that the voucher for the program "First Meeting" will include a full subsidy for parents when giving birth, with 2 million won for the first child and 3 million won for the second child and beyond.
Ms. Yoo Hye-mi, representative of the President's office, came to present gifts to the couple (Photo: Office of the President of Korea).
The child support program alone will provide 1 million won/month/child for the first 11 months after birth and 500,000 won/month for the following 11 months. Parents will also receive a child support of 100,000 won/month/child from birth until the child is 95 months old.
Sharing about her journey to having children, Sagong said that she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and had to take ovulation-stimulating drugs to treat and prepare for pregnancy. During the first treatment, she and her husband were overwhelmed when they learned that they were about to give birth to 5 children at the same time.
