Over the past years, Vinh Yen city has had many policies to encourage and develop the reading movement; gradually build reading habits, skills and movements among all classes of people, spreading reading culture in the community.
Book and Reading Culture Day is one of the activities organized by the city over the years to create a cultural space, attract people's attention, promote reading habits, and nurture a love of books.
At the same time, affirm the position, role and importance of books in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; honoring readers, creators, publishing, printing, distributing, libraries, preserving, collecting, promoting books and organizations and individuals who have contributed to the development of reading culture; enhancing the responsibility of all levels, sectors, functional agencies, and social organizations in the city for building and developing reading culture.
In 2025, Book and Reading Culture Day will be held with many rich, exciting and practical activities. In addition to 18 book exhibition booths of the city's affiliated units, within the framework of the program, there will also be many meaningful activities such as the Discussion "Reading books in the digital age", storytelling based on books; cultural and artistic activities; giving books to students with good academic achievements; giving books to the City Library...
Speaking at the program, Vinh Yen City Party Secretary Nguyen Trung Hai emphasized the importance of building and developing a reading culture. To continue to deepen the reading movement and create a widespread influence among all classes of people, he requested that Party committees and authorities from the city to the grassroots continue to thoroughly grasp and promote propaganda and education work, raise awareness in the political system and the whole society about the position, meaning and importance of books and reading culture in acquiring and cultivating knowledge, improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; attract social resources to invest in promoting books and reading culture; raise the self-awareness of cadres, party members, teachers, students and people in reading books, considering reading books as the most effective and practical self-study method.
At the same time, we pay attention to applying technology and science to reading, diversifying reading forms in the context of digital technology development, updating reading applications on cyberspace, helping to expand access to books to many readers, especially teenagers and students.
Pay attention to discovering and encouraging good models in reading, researching and applying knowledge from books to life. Strengthen coordination between levels, sectors, localities, agencies and units, especially the initiative of the city's education and training sector in applying technology to reading culture for city students right from when they are still in school, thereby creating a widespread environment, attracting many classes of people to participate in reading...
