The Department of Construction currently manages more than 2,700 road transport units with more than 8,000 vehicles of all types, operating more than 70 fixed inter-provincial passenger transport routes to 36 provinces and cities across the country.
Of these, there are 18 units transporting passengers by taxi, more than 680 units transporting passengers by contract vehicles, 6 units transporting passengers by fixed-route vehicles and 2 units transporting public passengers by bus.
It is expected that during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and April 30 - May 1 holidays, people's travel demand will increase by about 30% compared to normal.
To ensure the travel needs of people during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday, April 30 - May 1, the Department of Construction directed specialized units and the Provincial Bus Station Management Board to coordinate with passenger transport units to develop a transport plan, arrange the number of vehicles based on people's needs; strictly implement the approved bus schedule, combine with increasing trips or building a new bus schedule suitable to the actual situation, and submit for approval according to regulations.
Implement car transport fares and road transport support service prices, publicly post fares according to regulations; require transport units and vehicle owners to thoroughly educate drivers and assistants under their management to improve their sense of responsibility, ensure safety during the transport process, and strictly comply with Decree 168 of the Government.
Coordinate with the police force and relevant units to strengthen inspection and control, ensure security and order, traffic safety, and prevent epidemics in passenger transport according to regulations.
At the Provincial Bus Station, to ensure that people's travel needs are well met during the holiday, the Bus Station Management Board has developed a plan to arrange the number of vehicles and build a schedule suitable for people's travel needs.
At the same time, direct the affiliated bus stations to coordinate with bus stations outside the province to organize vehicles to enter and exit the station, pick up and drop off passengers safely and conveniently, ensuring absolute safety at the headquarters of transport units and on passenger transport vehicles associated with disease prevention and control.
Director of the Provincial Bus Station Management Board Truong Trung Thuc said: “The Provincial Bus Station is currently managing 160 vehicles operating on fixed routes at 9 affiliated bus stations with 64 routes in and out of the station; 5 bus routes with 33 vehicles operating 119 departures/day.
Transport units have developed plans to increase vehicles and trips, and prepare spare vehicles to register by vehicle number, driver name, service staff, and specific schedules and routes.
The Bus Station Management Board directs strict implementation of car transport fares and road transport support service prices, publicly posting ticket prices according to routes, times and service types; closely coordinates with functional forces to inspect and strictly handle transport units that violate transport activities such as squeezing, transferring passengers, increasing ticket prices against regulations, etc.
At the same time, strengthen propaganda and educate drivers and assistants of transport units to improve their sense of responsibility and serve passengers with absolute safety.
Currently, a number of passenger transport units at the provincial bus station have registered and applied the online ticket booking form, ensuring publicity, transparency and convenience for customers, reducing the number of customers transacting at the ticket counter during peak times.
It is expected that peak travel demand will start from April 4-7, 2025 (March 10 of the lunar calendar) and from April 29-May 4, 2025.
