Yen Lap youth contribute to renewing their homeland

Not only is he an active member of the Youth Union, Mr. Khong Trung Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Yen Lap Commune, is also known as one of the young people who are good at doing business in the locality. Introducing his stuffed animal factory, Mr. Hieu said: “After a period of doing stuffed animal business, I realized that this is a field with a lot of potential. In 2023, I decided to invest in purchasing machinery and building a stuffed animal factory.”

At first, Mr. Hieu encountered many difficulties, however, thanks to his active learning, he quickly grasped the techniques and stabilized production. With meticulousness in quality and quickness in improving designs to meet customer tastes, Mr. Hieu's stuffed animal production facility was gradually accepted by the market.

Not only does Mr. Hieu's factory earn a profit of more than 20 million VND per month, it also creates jobs for 4 regular workers with an income of 6 - 8 million VND/person/month and nearly 20 part-time workers.

With the spirit of daring to think and dare to do, more and more young people in the commune have overcome difficulties, risen up, and built effective economic development models. In particular, with their quick grasp of technology, many young people have taken the lead in developing the digital economy, promoting the consumption of local products on e-commerce platforms such as tiktok, shopee, etc.

This will contribute positively to the socio-economic development of the locality. In 2024, the average income of people in Yen Lap commune will reach 73.7 million VND/person/year, an increase of 5.13 million VND compared to 2023. In particular, the online business sector will make a significant contribution - a field in which young people are the core force.

Not only being active in economic development, in recent years, Yen Lap youth have also contributed their efforts, intelligence, and money with the Party Committee, the commune government, and associations and organizations in many tasks from upgrading the traffic system, renovating cultural houses, protecting the environment, etc.

Sharing about the most memorable volunteer campaign of the commune’s Youth Union in the journey of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas of the locality, Mr. Khong Dinh Phuong, Secretary of Yen Lap Commune Youth Union proudly said: “Previously, there were many temporary landfills in the commune, especially the temporary landfill on Provincial Road 304, which was a painful problem for the commune for many years, because after being cleared, they would pop up again. With the support of the Party Committee and the commune government, in 2018, the commune’s Youth Union carried out a “large-scale” campaign.

Not only did we hang banners and slogans, we also organized into groups carrying loudspeakers to propagate throughout the villages. Not to mention, after mobilizing the youth force to clean up the temporary garbage dump on Provincial Road 304, the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee also assigned members to be on duty day and night to prevent illegal dumping of garbage for the next 3 days.

With the determination of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union as well as the pioneering spirit of the Youth Union members, after only 1 week, the campaign completely eliminated the temporary landfill, contributing to preserving the local environmental landscape.

Upholding the spirit of “wherever needed, there are youth, wherever there is difficulty, there are youth”, in recent years, the Youth Union of Yen Lap commune has maintained the movements of “Volunteer Saturday” and “Green Sunday” to clean the environment, collect waste, clean martyrs’ cemeteries, village roads and alleys. At the same time, it has coordinated with associations and organizations in the commune to build green, clean, beautiful roads and mural roads.

In the digital transformation process, Yen Lap youth is also a pioneering force in coordinating with related units to support people in the commune to install and use the VNeID electronic identification application, use online public services, electronic payments, etc.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the Youth Union, it has contributed significantly to the success of the program of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas in the locality. With the spirit of initiative, creativity and sense of responsibility, Yen Lap youth increasingly affirms its role as a leading force, contributing to building an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
