(kontumtv.vn) – Implementing Resolution No. 07 of the Dak Ha District Party Committee on improving and developing household garden economies to increase income and sustainably reduce poverty, in conjunction with implementing Resolution No. 24 of the Provincial Party Committee on improving neglected gardens, many farmers have proactively introduced suitable plant and animal varieties with high economic value into production , contributing to increasing household income.

With the goal of diversifying crops and increasing income per cultivated area, the model of intercropping various high-economic-value fruit trees such as durian, longan, pomelo, and rambutan in the coffee garden of Mr. Pham Ngoc Phong's family in residential area 8, Dak Ha town, Dak Ha district, has yielded economic benefits. Many fruit trees provide stable income, creating conditions for the family to continue investing in, caring for, and developing the coffee garden. Mr. Phong said: “ Before, I went to the Mekong Delta to observe and learn. Most people here grow coffee , but coffee only provides income once a year, and the annual cost isn't very high. Later, I looked for intercropping options to generate off-season income alongside coffee, for example, pomelo provides income for 2-3 months, and at the end of the year, the coffee harvest brings higher economic efficiency . ”

The total area of ​​garden land in Dak Ha town is nearly 2.7 million square meters, belonging to 3,000 households. Approximately 35% of this garden land is not being used efficiently. After nearly three years of implementing Resolution No. 07 on improving and developing household garden economies to increase income and achieve sustainable poverty reduction, over 2.3 million square meters of garden land are now being used effectively. Many areas specializing in coffee cultivation have been intercropped with various fruit trees using organic farming methods, combined with the establishment of model gardens, resulting in stable income. Mr. Vo Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Ha town, affirmed: “ Through the implementation, we see a clear increase in income, bringing high economic value . Besides coffee income, there is also income from other crops, thus increasing people's income, and people are very actively participating . ”

Implementing the Resolution on renovating household gardens, Dak Ha district has renovated 6,456 gardens with over 86,000 seedlings and nearly 40,000 livestock. Linking the implementation of the Resolution with the campaign to change mindsets and practices, to date, over 84% of households in the locality know how to switch crops and livestock, and apply science to production; many household gardens in ethnic minority areas have been renovated, contributing to increased income and changing the production mindset of ethnic minorities. Ms. Y Nhoi – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ngok Reo commune, Dak Ha district, said: “ The Party Committee directed the Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and affiliated Party branches to propagate and mobilize the people. The people's awareness is very clear. Before, there were no garden fences, but now there are fences, and the gardens are renovated. Households fence their gardens to grow vegetables. Some households have improved their lives and contributed to building new rural areas in the commune . ”

Mr. A Bon – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ngok Wang commune, Dak Ha district, emphasized: “ The entire political system has been involved. For households still facing difficulties, the Party Committee has directed its affiliated units to coordinate with Party members in the residential areas of the village to help those households in need, mobilizing the people to implement the program simultaneously and synchronously. To date, we have basically completed the implementation of Resolution 07 to a relatively high degree . ”

With various specific models and methods, the Resolution on the renovation and development of household garden economies has gradually become a competitive movement, creating a widespread impact and contributing to improving the income and living standards of the people.
