The Nippon Maru ship docked in Ho Chi Minh City with 168 young delegates of the 48th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) from the afternoon of November 14.

168 SSEAYP 48 delegates come from 10 Southeast Asian countries (except Myanmar which is not participating this year) and Japan.
SSEAYP opens up opportunities for integration and cultural exchange
This is a cooperation program between the governments of 10 ASEAN member countries and Japan to strengthen the exchange and friendship between the youth of ASEAN countries and Japan. The cruise has passed its 50th year (since 1974) with 48 times of organization.
Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Pham Duy Trang believes that after participating in activities in Ho Chi Minh City and returning home, the young delegates will not only bring back beautiful memories but also valuable lessons about friendship, cooperation and clearly see the role of youth in building the future.
Mr. Shunsuke Fujimori - Executive Director of the International Youth Exchange Program at the Cabinet Office of Japan and Administrator of SSEAYP - said that Vietnam has had more than 700 delegates participating in SSEAYP.
This will be an opportunity to introduce to international friends a generation of Ho Chi Minh City youth who are "patriotic - united - proactive - creative - integrated" in the new era, the era of national growth.
Eager to explore Vietnamese culture
Delegates from various countries appeared on the pier in colorful uniforms, representing the traditional culture of their countries. It was not only a source of pride but also a source of national spirit through each greeting when holding their national flag in hand.
For each delegate, this is also an opportunity to explore and experience different cultures in the region, as well as develop international integration capacity.

After the reception ceremony, the delegates laid flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh on Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1), then attended a meeting with city leaders.
The delegates will have four days in Ho Chi Minh City with many activities, including cultural exchange programs and homestays.
You also divided into groups to interact and discuss with Ho Chi Minh City youth at universities and Youth Union bases on a number of topics about soft power and people's diplomacy, global environment and climate change, risk reduction and post-disaster recovery, etc.
