(CPV) - Vietnam welcomes Resolution 2728 on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip adopted by the United Nations Security Council on March 25, 2024, and calls on relevant parties to immediately implement the Resolution towards a lasting and sustainable ceasefire in the region.

On March 27, in response to a reporter's question about Vietnam's reaction to the United Nations Security Council's adoption of Resolution 2728 on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang affirmed: Vietnam welcomes Resolution 2728 on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip adopted by the United Nations Security Council on March 25, 2024 and calls on relevant parties to immediately implement the Resolution in order to achieve a lasting and sustainable ceasefire in the region, step up humanitarian relief, protect civilians and civil infrastructure. Vietnam supports all efforts of the international community in urging parties to exercise restraint, engage in dialogue, and resolve disagreements by peaceful means, on the basis of respect for international law and relevant Resolutions of the Security Council in order to soon reach a fair, satisfactory and long-term solution for the Middle East peace process./.
