Timely information, spreading messages at the conference
On September 16, immediately after the closing of the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference, the Conference Organizing Committee coordinated with the Information and Communication Subcommittee to hold an international press conference on the results of the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference.
Informing about the results of the Conference, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha said that since the proposal of the Vietnamese National Assembly was approved by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Office of the National Assembly and relevant agencies have actively prepared for the organization, promptly establishing the Conference Organizing Committee and Sub-committees. Member of the Politburo, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man is the Head of the Committee.
Vietnam also has high expectations for the content of the Conference. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue directly worked with relevant agencies to discuss and select appropriate content in the current context, which is "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation".

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha shared that Vietnam has achieved great success in preparing the content of the Conference as well as mobilizing the participation and support of young parliamentarians from other countries.
In particular, the Vietnamese National Assembly also marked this Conference by proposing to the IPU to adopt the Conference Declaration to continue promoting the implementation of the "Hanoi Declaration: Sustainable Development Goals - Turning Words into Actions" in 2015.
The content of the Declaration of this Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians is closely linked to the contents of the Hanoi Declaration 2015, contributing to the realization of the country's socio-economic development goals and solving global issues.
Mr. Vu Hai Ha said that the Conference had an opening session, a closing session and 3 thematic discussion sessions. All the discussion sessions were very exciting. The opening session of the Conference was attended by many high-ranking leaders of Vietnam. President Vo Van Thuong sent a message to the Conference. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent congratulatory flowers. This shows the attention of the Party and State leaders to the young generation and the activities of the Parliament.
In addition to the presentations of the speakers, there were also a large number of speeches and discussions by parliamentarians from various countries and international organizations. In particular, the first session on digital transformation had 30 turns of discussion and exchange of opinions from parliamentarians from various countries, representatives of affiliated organizations and observers.
The second thematic discussion on innovation and entrepreneurship had 18 exchanges and discussions. The third thematic discussion on promoting respect for cultural diversity for sustainable development had 40 exchanges. The delegates worked actively, so the session lasted 1 hour longer than expected.

At the closing session, the Conference heard a summary report of the results of three thematic discussion sessions. IPU President Duarte Pacheco and Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue delivered closing remarks. The IPU President highly appreciated the organization of the host country Vietnam; and at the same time called on parliaments and parliamentarians to actively take action to resolve global issues.
In addition to the main sessions, the Conference also held a seminar on “Enhancing digital capacity for youth”; an exhibition with the theme “Vietnam’s Aspiration”; an art exchange program within the framework of the Conference to introduce Vietnam’s cultural, artistic and historical heritages to international delegates attending the Conference; and the nation’s development achievements to the world. Delegates will also visit Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province.
In addition, the National Assembly Chairman, Vice Chairman, and representatives of National Assembly agencies also had bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference with partners.
At the press conference, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office, Assistant to the National Assembly Chairman Pham Thai Ha - Head of the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee emphasized that the success of this Conference was thanks to the attention of the Party and State leaders and the consistent direction of the National Assembly Chairman.
On this occasion, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Pham Thai Ha expressed his thanks to relevant domestic and international agencies for actively coordinating with the Conference Organizing Committee; thanked reporters, editors, and technicians working and serving the conference to promptly inform about activities within the framework of the conference, and spread the messages at the conference.
Appreciate the organization of the host country
Discussing at the press conference the issues of interest to reporters, IPU President Duarte Pacheco and IPU Secretary General both expressed their impressions and high appreciation for Vietnam in the organization of the host country.
IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong stated that the results of the conference far exceeded expectations, breaking many records such as the largest number of delegates ever.

President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Duarte Pacheco shared that when the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly proposed that Vietnam host the Global Meeting of Young Parliamentarians, the IPU did not hesitate to agree. This was partly due to the success of the 132nd IPU Assembly hosted by Vietnam in 2015.
"Vietnam has done a perfect job of organizing," the IPU President stated. After three days of working within the framework of this Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, Vietnam has continued to affirm its organizational capacity, thereby contributing to the success of the conference.
Regarding the results achieved at the conference, the IPU President said that the commitments and agreements made at the conference were only initial results. The more difficult thing ahead is the organization and implementation to put the commitments and contents of the conference into practice. The question is what the parliamentarians will do when they return home to implement the consensus reached at the conference .
