Called Banana, this free game is provided by publisher Sky on Steam. Coming to the game, users will need to click on the bananas they see on the screen as much as possible. Players will receive a random banana every few hours that they can add to their banana collection.
The number of people playing Banana at the same time has increased dramatically recently.
In case of getting a rare banana, players can try to trade or sell it on the Steam market, just like how they can do the same with rare weapon skins in Counter-Strike 2. This could be the main reason why Banana suddenly became widely popular on Steam.
Banana was released in late April 2024, but according to SteamDB statistics, the game only started seeing a spike in new players in mid-May. By early June, Banana had more than 46,000 players touching the virtual fruit at the same time.
That's a huge number for any Steam game, let alone a free-to-play one. But Banana's popularity doesn't stop there. The number of concurrent players for Banana continues to grow. As of June 17, the game had a concurrent player count of 858,915 on Steam.
The game still has over 800,000 concurrent players, making it the second most popular game on Steam at the moment, behind only Valve's Counter-Strike 2.
