The European Network Benchmark Report by Spanish company MedUX shows that the German capital Berlin has the best 5G network experience among all European cities, and the city's 5G coverage is also the highest at 89.6%.
Huawei ban could affect UK's 5G network
Meanwhile, London (UK) is at the bottom of the rankings with just 77.5% of residents able to receive a 5G signal, lower than the average for European cities. In terms of 5G speed, the average 5G download speed in London is only 143 Mbps, far behind Munich (Germany), where the average 5G download speed is 259 Mbps.
MedUX marketing director Rafael Galarreta stressed in an interview that the UK's ban on Huawei from participating in the construction of 5G networks could be one of the reasons why the country's 5G network is performing poorly.
“While it is difficult to quantify the impact of banning Huawei on UK networks, Huawei has been forced to withdraw from building 5G networks in the UK in recent years. This may be one of the reasons why London’s 5G network is of poor quality,” Mr. Galarreta shared.
