Quang Binh Literature and Arts - Proud Achievements

Many literary and artistic works published in the early stages of the association's establishment encouraged the emulation movement in production, construction and protection of the North, and at the same time provided human and material support to the great frontline in the South. In 1964, the magazine "A branch of spring" was published, creating positive public opinion among the literary and artistic community in particular and in social life in general.

This was the period when the association published many works of high practical and artistic value, such as: Gio Dai Phong, Hat Gio Moi, Duong Ra Chien. Poetry by poets in the association such as Tran Nhat Thu, Lam Thi My Da, Le Thi May, Hoang Vu Thuat, Nguyen Van Dinh… also caused a great resonance in public opinion nationwide.

In 1989, Quang Binh returned to its old territory. The Literature and Arts Association organized and participated in valuable selective art and fine art photo festivals and exhibitions, such as: A Time of Fire and Smoke, Dong Hoi Poetry, Land of Aspiration, Quang Binh Prose (1989-1998), Quang Binh Poetry (1989-1998), Quang Binh Songs (1989-1998), Canh Chim Bang, Quang Binh Modern Vietnamese Writers, the song collection "My Homeland Quang Binh", the collections "Water Flowing at the Bridge" (self-selected prose) and "The Song of the Lac Birds" (self-selected poetry), "Quang Binh Contemporary Fine Arts and Art Photography Collection (1995-2005)", "Quang Binh Contemporary Fine Arts and Art Photography Collection (2006-2016)", "Quang Binh Poetry Collection 410 Years", "Quang Binh Prose Collection 2009-2014”, ”Quang Binh Poetry and Literature Collection 2015-2020”…

Nhat Le Magazine is the association's forum for regularly publishing works. Every year, hundreds of novels, short stories, poems, memoirs, cultural research works, history, geography, folk literature, song collections, paintings, and sculptures by member authors are published.

Regarding the field of literature, Quang Binh literature shows diversity in writing styles and richness in content and topics. Many writers and poets have truly devoted themselves to the cause of innovation such as poet Hoang Vu Thuat with continuous movements in poetics; the late writer Huu Phuong with a multi-dimensional and direct view of contemporary social reality. Members of the literary association have published many books including novels, short stories, literary essays, poems, epics, translated stories, and theory-criticism.

Among them are works that won the Luu Trong Lu Literature and Arts Award of Quang Binh province, awards from the Central Propaganda Department, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the Writers' Association and central ministries and branches. The author force, with a fairly continuous process of construction and inheritance, has affirmed its position with its own creative style and daring to be different, such as: Nguyen Thi Le Na, Nguyen Huong Duyen, Hoang Dang Khoa, Hoang Thuy Anh, Tran Thi Trac Diem...

Regarding the Fine Arts major, fine arts are regularly introduced to participate in national art exhibitions, international sculpture camps, and national exhibitions with many high-quality works, such as: Painter Le Anh Tan has propaganda paintings participating in the international propaganda painting exhibition on the theme of anti-nuclear war. Sculptor Phan Dinh Tien has works that have won national awards, typically works such as "Heart of the Sea", "The Sea" and outdoor sculptures such as "Mother Suot Monument" ... At regional exhibitions, there are "Vitality" by sculptor Ngoc Thai, "Holding" by painter Luong Sang, "Stilt-walking Competition" by painter Doan Van Thinh, "The Story of a Woman" by sculptor Truong Tran Dinh Thang ...

In the field of Photography, Quang Binh photographers have closely followed the reality of social life, political tasks and major creative movements, such as "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", "Proud of a border strip", "For a peaceful life"... Photography has won many important awards, such as: Luu Trong Lu Literature and Arts Award, gold, silver and bronze awards at the North Central region art photography festival, awards at the "Quang Binh Tourism" contest and many other thematic awards. Notable are NSNA Duc Thanh, author Van Bau, NSNA Nguyen Hai won gold, silver and bronze medals at international photography contests...

In terms of music, Quang Binh musicians continue the creative process of previous generations, actively innovate their style, and compose many songs with the breath of the times. In the campaigns to compose and promote literary and artistic works with the theme "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh"... Besides Quang Binh musicians who have achieved many successes in different fields, such as: Hoang Song Huong, Quach Mong Lan, Duong Viet Chien, Tran Anh Tuan, Duong Nguyet Anh, Quach Sy Dung... Notably, musician Hoang Song Huong was honored to receive the State Prize for Literature and Arts, the B prize at the award ceremony for literary and artistic works written on the theme "Studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh" in the period of 2018-2020. Singer Thuy Linh was awarded the title of People's Artist by the State.

Regarding the Performance Stage, some artists such as Meritorious Artist Le Kieu Anh and choreographer Phan Xuan Thanh are always the core force participating in performance programs serving important events of the province. Writer Nguyen Quang Vinh with the type of live stage and focusing on exploiting the theme of revolutionary war has created a strong impression on the public with stage scripts about the cave of Eight volunteer youths, Suot's mother, Long Dai ferry, Hien Luong bridge and Ben Hai river... Many works won major awards, such as: Silver medal for the dance performance "Bru-Van Kieu Improvisation". Dancer Kieu Anh was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist. Artist Thanh Loc and artist Hong Hoi were awarded the title of Meritorious Artist by the State.

The major in Folklore has actively contributed to preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural capital of the homeland in the process of integration and development. Authors: Do Duy Van, Dinh Thanh Du, Dinh Tien Hung, Van Tang, Dang Thi Kim Lien... regularly receive many high awards from the Vietnam Folklore Association. Many works have won high awards such as: "Geography of An Xa village", "Folklore of the Minh Hoa Source people", "Ba Don market"...

Majoring in Architecture, architects have participated in designing many planning projects through design consulting organizations in the province with scale and quality, creating the premise for the construction of architectural works and technical infrastructure. Many architectural works have been considered for provincial Literature and Arts awards and creative competitions on different topics, such as: Luu Trong Lu Literature and Arts Award and other important competitions...

Quang Binh's literature and arts constantly promote the values ​​of previous generations and the next generations, actively contributing to the socio-political life, creating a vivid panorama for Quang Binh homeland. The contributions and achievements of the province's literary and artistic team through the ages are very proud and appreciated.
