Provincial People's Committee deploys socio-economic development tasks for June 2024

On the morning of June 5, the Provincial People's Committee held an online meeting to review the direction and management of socio-economic development in May and deploy key tasks for June 2024. Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee: Le Huyen and Trinh Minh Hoang chaired the meeting.

In May, the socio-economic situation had many positive changes; production and business activities in the industrial, commercial and service sectors had a fairly good growth rate compared to the same period; the industrial production index (IIP) increased by 15.3%, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 13.9%, attracting 390,000 visitors in the month, up 8.3% over the same period. Attention was paid to removing difficulties for businesses, the investment and business environment was improved, business activities showed signs of recovery; in the month, 27 new businesses were established, an increase of 8% in the number of businesses and a 3.47-fold increase in registered capital compared to the same period. Social security policies continued to receive attention and were fully implemented; disease prevention and control work was strengthened; food hygiene and safety were ensured. Security, politics, and social order and safety were maintained. Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of the year grew by 8.07%, ranking 3rd out of 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions and 13th nationwide.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of departments, branches and local units in implementing socio-economic development tasks in the past time. At the same time, he emphasized that in order to continue to create growth momentum and strive to complete the 2024 target according to the proposed plan scenario, it is required that sectors and localities continue to closely follow, review and resolutely and effectively implement socio-economic development goals and tasks; further promote 3 breakthroughs and 6 key sectors and fields, prioritizing growth promotion. Strengthen solidarity, unity, maintain discipline and administrative order; promptly remove bottlenecks, difficulties and obstacles, and proactively resolve them according to their authority. Sectors, units and localities focus on directing resolutely and effectively the plan to combat drought and produce the Summer - Autumn crop in accordance with the situation; effectively implement the forest fire prevention and fighting plan; Responding to drought, water shortage and saltwater intrusion in 2024. Continue to focus on accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital, striving to disburse 100% of the public investment capital plan in 2024, especially capital for the 3 National Target Programs. Strengthen the implementation of digital transformation tasks; strengthen the Steering Committee for digital transformation, ensure strong, substantive and effective operations, complete the goals and tasks of digital transformation and Project 06 in the province. Promote the growth of the processing industry, especially key products that are still facing difficulties. Accelerate the implementation of the Project to establish an inter-regional Renewable Energy Service and Industry Center in Ninh Thuan; issue bidding documents for the LNG Ca Na project, promote secondary investment in industrial parks, and accelerate the progress of industrial clusters. Complete the dossier for approval of the Master Plan for the construction of Ninh Chu National Tourist Area until 2040. Review and adjust land use plans, construction plans, urban and rural plans, and specialized plans in line with the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Have a plan to implement and resolve outstanding issues related to BT projects in the province. Seriously and effectively implement the specific land valuation plan for 2024. Strictly manage and effectively implement solutions for budget collection and land revenue; implement tourism stimulus programs; organize the 2024 high school graduation exam. Promote vocational training and administrative reform in conjunction with improving the capacity and efficiency of government apparatus at all levels; Synchronously implement solutions to improve provincial assessment indicators in 2024.
