On the morning of January 26, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Chao Chin Chan, Chairman of Thuong Phung Commune (Meo Vac District, Ha Giang) said that at 8:00 a.m. the same day, in Lung Van Chai village (Xin Cai Commune), Xin Phin Chu village and Mo Phang village (Thuong Phung Commune), snow suddenly appeared with light rain. The temperature dropped to 0 degrees Celsius.

According to Mr. Chan, the snow and rain stopped falling at around 10am that same day. However, the snow did not cover the trees in white, because wherever the snow fell, the rainwater melted it all.
"For many days, the government has been advising people to stockpile food and fence their barns to keep their livestock and poultry warm. This morning, the government continued to broadcast instructions to people to keep warm, so there were no unexpected situations and livestock were not affected much," said Mr. Chan.
