On the morning of April 19, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize a conference to disseminate information on trade defense and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to officials, civil servants, state managers and the business community in the province.

At the conference, delegates were briefed by representatives of the Office of the Steering Committee for International Economic Integration, Ministry of Industry and Trade, on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the impact of these agreements on the Vietnamese economy. Accordingly, Vietnam is participating in 15 FTAs. The FTAs are signed with the goal of reducing or eliminating tariff, service and investment barriers, facilitating trade activities. In particular, new-generation FTAs such as CPTPP, EVFTA and UKVFTA have been helping businesses benefit from many tax incentives. Comrade Pham Trung Nghia, Deputy Director, Deputy Chief of Office of the Steering Committee for International Economic Integration, Ministry of Industry and Trade, disseminated information about FTAs and the impact of these agreements on Vietnam's economy.
Also at the conference, a reporter from the Department of Trade Defense disseminated the contents of the practical handling and response to domestic and foreign trade defense cases against Vietnam's import and export goods and some recommendations when handling trade defense cases; the Department of Asian and African markets introduced the opportunities, challenges, and export directions to the Chinese market.

The conference also discussed, exchanged and answered many questions of enterprises in the process of applying FTAs to promote Thanh Hoa's goods export to international markets; obstacles and trade defense barriers that cause difficulties for import and export activities.

In recent years, the export value of Thanh Hoa enterprises has reached 5-6 billion USD. According to the plan, Thanh Hoa province strives to reach 8 billion USD in export value by 2025. To achieve this goal, the Department of Industry and Trade is continuing to promote activities to disseminate legal policies and regulations, helping officials working in state management, units and enterprises in the province update and supplement knowledge of new regulations in import and export activities. Thereby promptly removing difficulties and obstacles, making the most of incentives from signed FTAs to expand the market and take advantage of incentives when exporting goods.
