From September 11 to 19, the Tan Son District Legal Education Coordination Council coordinated with the District Forest Protection Department to organize legal education and dissemination in 5 communes: Vinh Tien, Thu Ngac, Dong Son, Xuan Son, Tam Thanh.

Dissemination and education of laws on forest protection and management in Thu Ngac commune

This program, under content 2, Sub-project 1, Project 10, disseminates legal education and propaganda to mobilize ethnic minorities under the National Target Program on socio-economic development for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in Tan Son district in 2024. Participants are Secretaries, Heads of residential areas, Heads of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Working Committee, Heads of Women's Unions, Heads of Farmers' Associations, Heads of War Veterans' Associations, Youth Union Secretaries, prestigious people in the community, ethnic minorities living in the commune; households and individuals belonging to poor households, near-poor households living in communes and villages with special difficulties.

At the training course, the trainees were informed by the officers of the District Forest Protection Department about some contents of the Law on Forest Protection and Development, Fire Prevention and Fighting; forest development policies and some policy mechanisms to support people in developing forest economy; the role of Party committees, authorities, organizations and people in forest protection and management; the harmful effects of losing protective forests and special-use forests, destroying the habitat of many species of animals and plants in the forest causing floods... seriously affecting people's lives.

Through the dissemination of laws on forest protection, each student is an active propagandist, encouraging relatives, families, and neighbors in the area and village to effectively manage and protect forests. Deforestation and encroachment on protective forests and special-use forests are strictly prohibited.

Currently, Tan Son district has nearly 58,000 hectares of forest and forestry land. Of which, there are over 15,000 hectares of special-use forest; 9,200 hectares of protective forest and over 33,400 hectares of production forest with the remaining area not yet forested; increasing the coverage of the whole district to 61.8%. Every year, the district mobilizes people to convert over 100 hectares of large timber forest.
