According to VTC News, center back Ho Khac Luong has just undergone a medical examination after the match between Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Song Lam Nghe An. Doctors determined that this player suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and he will have to rest for 8-10 months. Khac Luong will be absent for the rest of this season.
At the end of the first half, Khac Luong collided with an opposing player and had to leave the field. The heavy rain at Ha Tinh Stadium was partly the reason why the collisions were stronger, leading to serious injuries.
The departure of Que Ngoc Hai and the removal of Thai Ba Sang from the V-League registration list created an opportunity for Ho Khac Luong. He was trusted to start in both of SLNA's first two matches. This central defender played well, despite being shorter than the foreign strikers.
When Khac Luong could not continue playing, Le Nguyen Hoang was chosen to enter the field. The young talent born in 2005 left an impression thanks to his determined fighting spirit. However, experience is what Nguyen Hoang lacks. The more than 70 minutes on the Ha Tinh field was the first time Nguyen Hoang played in the V-League.
Coach Phan Nhu Thuat still has a few names that can play in the center-back position: Tran Nam Hai and Le Van Thanh. One of these three players will be placed in the starting lineup next to Mario Zebic. All of SLNA's domestic center-backs are under 23 years old.
Ho Khac Luong was the captain of many SLNA youth teams in previous years. This player was called up to the U17, U19 and U23 Vietnam teams.
Having trained at the Nghe An youth academy since the age of 10, Khac Luong was expected to be the next name to replace seniors like Que Ngoc Hai or Hoang Van Khanh. Unfortunately, injuries were the barrier that prevented Khac Luong's career from going as far as originally planned.
In round 3 of V-League, SLNA will have a difficult away match at Thanh Hoa's field.
