Madam Pang decided to sue Mr. Somyot Pumpanmuang and a total of 19 people in the previous term of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), under Article 76 of the Civil and Commercial Code, after losing the lawsuit to the media company Siam Sport with the amount currently up to 500 million baht (more than 380 billion VND), including the lost lawsuit fee of 360 million baht and the interest incurred, according to Siamsport newspaper.

Madam Pang also affirmed that the lawsuit against Mr. Somyot Pumpanmuang and the previous executive board was not about personal issues, but about her current responsibility for managing the federation.
"The debt from the lawsuit, which makes the current FAT responsible for paying the debt, is unfair. This is an incident that happened during the previous term of the president. Therefore, we have unanimously voted to proceed with the lawsuit for compensation against the entire executive board of the previous FAT, according to Article 76 of the Civil and Commercial Code, including the approval to hire experts to handle the above lawsuit. Until justice is served," Madam Pang announced on March 14.
Faced with this situation, the Thai press has questioned whether Madam Pang will resign as president due to the pressure of FAT's debt, as this football body will find it difficult to have enough money to pay off the lawsuit in the near future. However, Madam Pang has insisted that she will not give up her duties and will prioritize focusing on solving FAT's public debt problem during her term.
She also expressed that she will seek to negotiate with the relevant partners in the lawsuit against the media company Siam Sport, to postpone or reduce the amount of the lawsuit. In addition, she also proposed to establish a special campaign to raise money for FAT to overcome the current financial difficulties.
These include programs to sell Thai national team jerseys, sell T-shirts to support Thai football, receive donations from fans and receive double tax deductions, and other fundraising activities. FAT also cooperates to organize music events, stage plays, and friendly football matches to raise money.

Part of the donation will be used to pay off the lawsuit against Siam Sport, while the rest will be used to support Thai teams. Previously, the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports announced that there would be no financial support for FAT to pay off the lawsuit against Siam Sport. FAT currently does not have enough money to pay off the debt, so the organization has to fend for itself.

Therefore, Madam Pang is determined to pursue the lawsuit against Mr. Somyot Pumpanmuang and the previous term's executive board to demand justice.
This is also the reason she decided not to attend the wedding of one of his children, even though she had received an invitation, to avoid causing misunderstandings and creating bad public opinion in the current context.
"He will probably be very disappointed. There is a good personal relationship between me and Mr. Somyot Pumpanmuang. I have received an invitation to his son's wedding. But I will not attend to avoid unfortunate incidents. I think he understands the reason, the current lawsuit is not because of personal problems, but because of my responsibility to the federation," Madam Pang expressed in a statement published in Siamsport newspaper on March 15.
