In the quarter-final match on March 12, when there were less than 10 minutes left in the match (official time) and the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism team was stuck in finding a way to score against the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology team, Nguyen Van Thuc knew how to shine at the right time.
The student majoring in hotel management (Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism) dribbled the ball boldly into the middle, facing many opposing defenders before unleashing a powerful and tricky shot to defeat the goalkeeper of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Van Thuc's valuable goal in the 71st minute helped coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and his team win the match, thereby advancing to the semi-finals.

Dare to make choices and strive to do the best when facing challenges, it is the bravery of the striker born in 2003 that has helped the team overcome difficult times. That is also the "compass" of Nguyen Van Thuc in life. The striker from Thanh Hoa said that playing football helps him mature every day: "From a skinny boy, I became tall (1.80 m, 75 kg) like today, also thanks to playing sports. When participating in the football team of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism in recent years, I have also become more mature and responsible for what I do. I want to become a brave man, to support my mother and take care of my siblings". Van Thuc revealed that his father passed away before the university entrance exam. He was very sad, but the thought of having to replace his father to support the family" urged the young man from Thanh Hoa to be even stronger.
Nguyen Van Thuc has shown his strength through his running steps, his disputes and his goals on the field. And not only this 22-year-old striker, his strength is also the factor that brought the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism team far in the TNSV THACO Cup 2025, with the first strong mark being defeating the very strong team of Thuy Loi University in the northern region play-off match and securing a place in the final round in Ho Chi Minh City.
Dream of the team bringing the championship cup back to Thanh Hoa
Van Thuc is a fourth-year student who has played for the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism football team since his first days of school. After 4 years of competition, Thuc and his teammates have won many championships, and he himself has won many individual titles (top scorer, best player). However, the 2025 season is the first time Nguyen Van Thuc and the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism team have competed in the TNSV VN. Therefore, the 22-year-old striker and his teammates are eager to show their abilities. Van Thuc was also the first penalty kicker, opening the final victory for coach Nguyen Cong Thanh and his team against the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry in the semi-finals. Now, the Thanh Hoa team has come very close to the championship, having registered for the final match. "We set a goal of winning the championship. In the first and possibly last time participating in the tournament, I want to keep the wonderful memories of my student days," striker Nguyen Van Thuc expressed.
