Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam lost 1-4 to Hungary in a friendly match on the afternoon of September 17, after a 1-1 draw two days ago.
* Goals: Minh Tri 39' – Vas Adam 13', Pal Patrik 21', Nagy Kevin 23', Rabl Janos 35'
Hungary is ranked 29th in the world futsal rankings, 10 places higher than Vietnam. The European team has good technique and better physique. Among them, captain Droth Zoltan is 1.9 m tall, 35 years old but constantly causes trouble for the home team's defense.

Vietnam had many chances in the first half, but the shots were not difficult enough for Alasztics goalkeeper Marcell. In the 13th minute, Vietnam lost the ball after a counter-attack, then lost position, allowing Vas Adam to dribble freely and score a goal in a one-on-one situation with goalkeeper Huu Phuc.
Vietnam conceded their second goal with just 11 seconds of the second half gone, courtesy of a Pal Patrik free-kick. Three minutes later, goalkeeper Marcell threw the ball from his own half for Droth Zoltan to deftly control past Pham Duc Hoa on the touchline. Hungary's Pivo passed to Kevin Nagy, who fired home a powerful finish for the third goal.

Losing heavily, coach Diego Giustozzi let his players use power-play – a tactic of playing with five players without a goalkeeper. After many efforts, Vietnam finally got a goal back in the 39th minute when Duong Ngoc Linh passed from the left wing for Nguyen Minh Tri to score. However, the risky tactic caused Vietnam to concede a fourth goal when Rabl Janos quickly shot from his own field into an empty net in the 35th minute.
Losing 1-4 overall, Vietnam went through a series of seven matches without a win, all of which were friendlies. Before the two matches against Hungary, during the June training session in South America, the team lost to Paraguay 2-3, 0-2 and drew 4-4, and lost to Argentina 1-4 and 0-3.
On September 19, Vietnam continued to play a friendly match with strong opponent Russia - ranked fourth in the world. In the most recent meeting, Vietnam lost 2-3 in the round of 16 of the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
